View Full Version : Billing Software Please Help
dallas - zoom active 03-22-2009, 09:03 PM I am going to be using Joomla as certain features of my site will just be the most easiest with Joomla.
There is no whmcs for Joomla so I am wondering about the following billing system nBill, will it work the same as WHMCS?
Website:
http://www.nbill.co.uk/
What exactly is WHMCS a billing system or does it connect with hosting, domains etc?
Thanks!
ravi_9793 03-22-2009, 09:56 PM Yes, with WHMCS you can connect web hosting and domain registration. WHMCS is great billing software. You can also try ClientExec, ModernBill etc.
To integrate WHMCS with joomla theme, you will need to edit WHMCS theme. I don't know how exactly you can integrate, but probably you will need to copy paste joomla theme header and footer code in WHMCS theme header.php and footer.php
gmilazzo 03-22-2009, 09:58 PM It's a billing system. Very outstand software.
jon-f 03-22-2009, 10:27 PM I will vouch for WHMCS as well being a great billing software. Only problem I ever had with WHMCS was once in 3.1* I had a hacker upload a shell in the downloads folder somehow. I disabled permissions on that folder and it was ok since then.
You cant beat WHMCS for being able to work with so many multiple control panels, the ticket system, heck everything and to beat it all its very affordable. Ive been using it 2+ years now and have no plans to change anytime in the future
The_Dominator 03-22-2009, 11:15 PM you will get at least 15 more replies after this and i bet 13/15 will say WHMCS is perfect --
I agree with this WHMCS is the best solution
dallas - zoom active 03-23-2009, 01:05 AM I appreciate the feedback however my question was not really about WHMCS however nBill, There is no bridge for WHMCS so I will not be using it. If there were I would chose that.
Is nBill a good billing system for web host related? Do I just need "a" billing system?
Thanks

I am not sure about nBill as I never used it, but I am pretty sure if you contact WHMCS, they will try to help you in getting a converter or to describe a way to convert your nBill clients to WHMCS without a bridge.
Do I just need "a" billing system?
Maintaining multiple billing system is a headache, all in one would always be a better choice according me, other people may have own choice though.
M5Host 03-23-2009, 03:46 AM I will only be able to add one thing to this. DO NOT use ModernBill (now bought by Parallels and renamed). Getting ModernBill was the single worst mistake I have yet made. I am very happy with Ubersmith, but I do not know if it is an appropriate solution for the original poster. But, ModernBill 5 or newer is crap, and is not to be considered for any situation.
Bill is a lot of work. Even when it's automated. It's going to be best to keep it as simple, reliable, neat and clean as possible.
Good luck !
Mike

There are several designer and developments that use Joomla and WHMCS with great success I would make a post in the design forum and ask for some bids for what you want - you will probably be surprised and get exactly what you want
Matt with WHMCS might also be available to make some suggestions
LaneHost 03-23-2009, 04:05 PM There are quite a few users who use Joomla and WHMCS without problems.
canubeat 03-25-2009, 12:06 AM WHMCS is the Best one. My suggestion is use WHMCS and its bit expensive
DeVGFX 03-25-2009, 02:53 AM WHMCS you can't got wrong :P

There are a number of posts in the whmcs forums about joomla integration, and if my memory serves me right, there's a joomla/whmcs bridge posted as well.
Whmcs is not just an invoicing system, it connects to your control panel (cpanel, plesk etc), and can automatically setup accounts, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, or upgrade/downgrade accounts. It can also connect with a domain reseller account, and register domains. There is also a built in helpdesk.
I've not seen nbill before, but it looks like it's just a billing system, where as whmcs does a lot more.
111host 03-25-2009, 08:32 AM Go with WHMCS, it is a best and professional software.
