Hello,

Im wondering what happens in the following scenario..

HostABC uses 2Checkout / HostCharge / ProPay / 3 party processor X to process their online transactions.

CustomerXYZ issues a chargeback against HostABC and wins.

Question: Does this get reported on HostABC's personal credit report?

I am more familiar with traditional merchant accounts, and am not sure what happens in this "middle-man scenario. Many someone can shed some light on the situation. Thanks.

Yes, it will get reported on HostABC's report.

Yes, but it usually wont leave a mark unless its excessive.

TrevorM,

Knowing of the whole EARHost debacle, is there any way this can get reported on Tim/Jim's credit history? As someone still waiting for a refund, I would have to see this happen again.

I dont think either of them are 18 yet.. So in that case you would not be able to effect there credit.. Also 2checkout has nothing to do with your credit nor can they put a bad credit mark on your history.. as for "real" merchant account I am not sure but I doubt it..

OKIHost,

No, but someone had to sign the contract. Someone had to have a bank account to transfer the funds to. That person is over 18 and assumes ultimate responsibility, or at least they should. Im just wondering if these companies like HostCharge, 2Checkout take the time to report such things. I would assume they dont, it wouldnt be worth their time, but Im not sure, so I ask.

did you order through 2checkout or CCPay?

I ordered through PayPal with instant funds transfer via my checking account, I have no recourse sadly. I am currently working with the BBB and other agencies, but my money seems to be gone. Good lesson learned.
