Hi
i have a dedicated server and have set myself up an account on it. i log into this account through cpanel and theres a few things i just cant seem to get to work.
AWStats - when i go to 'Choose log program' i get this message -
Stats program is locked out by administrator. so i cant choose awstats as my stat program.
Parked Domains - i would like to park my .co.uk and .net domains so they forward onto my .com domain. When i try and add these domains i get the following message -
'Error from park wrapper: This wrapper may only be run from the cpanel binary. This setting can be adjusted in Tweak Settings. '
so i go into my WHM and make sure
Allow users to park subdomains of the server's hostname main domain is ticked.
Do i need to restart my server for these changes to take effect?
Thanks

To fix AWSTATS:
Root WHM >> Statistics Software Configuration >> Tick the option says "Allow all users to change ther web statistics generating software." and save it.
To fix the Second error:
Try enabling the following option from WHM >> Tweak Settings:
"Allow cpanel and admin binaries to be run from other applications besides the cpanel server (cpsrvd). [parentcheck]"
Disable the following option:
"Only permit cpanel/whm/webmail to execute functions that have a referrer that matches one of the domains/ip on this server. This will help prevent XSRF attacks, but may break integration with other systems, login applications, and billing software."
"Do i need to restart my server for these changes to take effect?" - No, it needs the cpanel to be reloaded which is done automatically after pressing the save button.

There are no domains which have awstats stats to display
how do i go about adding my domain to awstats so it can start tracking??

Stats are only regenerated every 24 hours, if I recall correctly. So I would wait a day or 2 and try viewing them again.

That is the default (and general rule of thumb for cPanel/WHM servers), but this can be customized by going to WHM -> Server Configuration -> Statistics Software Configuration and changing the setting for "Generate statistics every."

Hi Dave,
I understand that. The only reason why I didn't mention it is because it seemed unlikely that the OP had customized the setting in question, and therefore it would be set to the default :)
Sorry to be off topic, but I have a cPanel question myself. On the WHM Account Copier, what does "do not compress backups" do?

That's alright, I say the same thing as well - it's a good rule of thumb :).
I believe you're referencing "Do not compress transfers (cPanel 10.8.3+ required on both ends):." That's mainly there so if you're copying an account and don't want to deal with the CPU consumption (and delay) involved in compressing many files, for example for a site that is image-intensive and would not substantially benefit from such compression, you can speed up the transfer process by not compressing the files before transfer.
Though if the site is mostly code or larger text files, performance of the transfer process may benefit from such compression.
