Here is the thing I use Google Checkout, PayPal, 2C0, etc. for years. This one guy paid me to work on his site, I created mods for him, worked very hard for hours and answered all of his questions. Then out of the blue four months later without contacting me requests a full refund of two separate payments he had sent me for all of my work. Now Google says that they will try to go through this dispute but last time this happened (it was only $30 last time) they granted the refund since I didn't get the guy's written signature and other prove of purchase that only a bank provides. This is $500 dollars worth of work and I will be damned if he steals that from me for all of my hard work four months later. I am sure Google will not do anything about it so if I remove my bank account from their service will they still deduct the money? I may go as far as closing my bank account and getting a new one.

Google may be able to pull the money after it's removed, and may still charge your bank if you close the account. I had an issue with a Bellsouth business account at Bank of America a few years back. Moved our merchant account to Wachovia and switched to cable services, Bellsouth decided to charge our old account three times after we cancelled, then BoA came after me. We got it all straightened out, but still bear in mind that closing your account may not be enough either. It may be in your best interest to contact the buyer and let them know you will be contacting a lawyer.

I am speaking to the bank now they said that if I can provide the date and amount of those transactions they can put a block on them before Google can deduct it out of my account. I will try to do that and I wonder will Google just send me letters trying to scare me then or will it affect my credit score or something? Thanks.

If you want my opinion - deal Google their own card. They don't have your signature on any agreements either.

Sorry not sure what you mean? Anyway I called my bank and they said that they placed stop orders on that amount so if Google doesn't come through for me they will not take out the money hopefully. That is good I never knew it was so easy. I wonder if this would impact my credit score or something?

It may. I would contact Google and explain the situation maybe?

I have, but last time they were all technical and stated that if I do not have written forms proving that I offered the services to the person they cannot do anything. As you know someone online just sends the money and you do the job. Usually you do not collect all of their personal info and mail them a secret code to have them respond like a corporate bank.

I would suggest mailing your clients invoices in the future, or setting something up where they have to provide an electronic signature or copy of their DL.

How many people actually do that? I am afraid to scare off people into thinking that I am a scam by collecting all of their info or they may be turned off by the wait.

Isn't agreeing to the TOS and stuff just as valid?
