I currently work for a hosting company and we are designing a reseller program. My question is what things do you look at when selecting a reseller program? How do you decide which company to go with?

Personally,

I take a look at their reliability and their uptime record.

More importantly, I usually contact their sales/support team in order to analyze their response time.

Thanks

What are your requirement and budget. with the specification in mind please check reseller offer section and find out the providers which suits your needs. Then try to find the reviews on the short listed host by search facility. you can also get some first hand experience from the board.

i take a look at support first of all and then the uptime record.

Personally, we've never used reselling.

However, from our personal experience people look at the following,

The features you provide,
The uptime,
The quality of support,
and most importantly the price.

Features to the account will normally outweigh the above.

For example, we offer Fantastico, Free SEO Reports, Hosting Templates, and Free software that we create.

I take a look at their reliability and their uptime record. Easier said than done. Actual records are often impossible to find. The majority of hosts stop at simply advertising a (virtually meaningless) "uptime guarantee". :)

Service response and uptime are most important.
Then server speed and features.

From our experience in selling a few thousand reseller accounts, the 2 biggest factors are the added features we offer and the price.

Quality of service and level of uptime are most critical for good reseller accounts.
