Never heard of them...Good Luck!!!
net-trend 09-07-2002, 08:23 PM If they have a 30 day money back guarantee, you can give both of them a try and decide which of the two you like best.

Next it will be,"HELP!" My sites are down................
No support in a week,etc.
bruce1234at 09-07-2002, 11:35 PM i too have never heard of them. try doing a search of the forums and see if they have previously been talked about.
Samuel 09-08-2002, 02:34 AM I've heard httpme.com is one of the "Funnest" hosts to be at, great support, great attitudes etc.
nonstop 09-08-2002, 08:35 AM Many people are asking for cheap but perfect services.
However, I think it is natural that cheap plans have some cheap services.
I want to say that 'try them, and try another.'
raiden 09-08-2002, 04:44 PM thank for your replys
could anyone tell me of some other hosts that offer these spec at around the same price? that are reccomended or something.
also im thinking cian hosting is worth a try, only £25, cant go wrong there. but would there be any probs with the domain the register for me? how would i get it to my next host?
thanx
ThePrimeHost 09-08-2002, 05:51 PM I've heard httpme.com is one of the "Funnest" hosts to be at, great support, great attitudes etc.
I've heard that too. :D
Dixiesys (http://dixiesys.com) is one of the most reputable low cost hosts around. I highly recommend them.
:wavey:
raiden 09-09-2002, 10:22 AM those hosts arent as cheap tho
raiden 09-09-2002, 10:24 AM can someone at least reccomend one of the two i posted. i dont know much about hosting.
okihost 09-09-2002, 10:45 AM I dont think that anyone has heard of either of those hosts and that is why you have not really gotten any reply. Only thing I can think of is try a search on them here and if not try a couple hosting other forums and see if anything pops up.

Samuel 09-09-2002, 04:23 PM Raiden, people are commenting about hosts that they KNOW will be there "WHEN SERVERS GO BAD!!!!!", you're in a community of designers, consultants, and mental patients, we would hate for you to try a host that is less than admirable and learn the hard way.
PixelAxis 09-09-2002, 04:47 PM All I say is broaden your horizons
cooperlg 09-09-2002, 04:48 PM I cant say they are cheap but I can swear by the performance and support of pugmarks.net hosting.
raiden 09-09-2002, 05:13 PM yeah but im saying for £25 its gotta be worth a shot. If it suxs ill just go elsewhere
v2rahn 09-09-2002, 05:53 PM OK, Raiden, I took a quick look at both of your candidates:
- With www.cian.net I could even not get to the page telling me what plans they offer (or is there just one?). In addition I wonder why you have to sign up before you're allowed to see their "in-depth online FAQ". No support page at all that can be reached from their home page.
- www.mp3q.net has no email address or phone number on their website. The only way to contac them is a web form. Personally I don't like hosts that hide from their customers. At least I could find their street address in their terms of service. Their available support section is reduced to some basic questions linked to from their home page. In addition their "mini plan" doesn't look outstanding to me.
I am with PageZone for more than a month now, getting more (specially more service) for a very fair price, so I am still happy with them. But as your needs could differ from mine other hosts could do for you. I have covered all hosts that I did consider for myself at http://hostingreview.rahn.net.
I found that it's easier to evaluate potential hosts yourself by putting everything relevant in a little table (template on my site, help yourself) so you can make a side-by-side comparison.
Summary: Don't take what you intended to take, there's much more and better out there.

raiden 09-09-2002, 07:05 PM hi v2
thanks alot for your reply. its exactly the kind of thing im looking for.
but with mp3q i get 500m and better bandwidth. do you know if page zone allow a little extra to plan 1 for extra cost. Plan one is a little small, but plan 2 is to much.
again thanx for your help. very much appreciated/

I think its good lookin but Im biased, and also look here...
http://www.mp3q.net/hosting/contact.htm
At the bottom is my phone number and my address, and also several ways to reach me via the web which I tell clients to use.
I can be found on IRC, EMail, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ ect ect
Just wanted to clear that up

v2rahn 09-10-2002, 03:42 AM Steve and all others,
I am sorry this happened to me. Of course I DID look at the contact page. But as I said I had only a "quick" look at those websites, and this was too quick, which should not happen if I want to post what I found.
Still, Steve, this might help you. I am not the only one having only a very brief look at your website, deciding if it's worth looking on. In my browser window (full screen, 1024x768) it was not obvious to me that your contact page went on beyond the inquiry form. Perhaps it gets clearer if you put the emails etc at the beginning.

SteveD3 09-10-2002, 09:34 AM Hey, dont sweat it. I just didnt want to appear shady and look like Im hiding. I looked over your review site and got the PDF file for the hosting compairson. Thanks for that info. I will use it to redo my sight, and maybe look at the other comp I have. When I deploy the new version you want to look it over and judge?
Again, no need to apologize, cause its all good baby ! ( haha)

raiden 09-13-2002, 09:46 AM mp3q guy,
could you please post a few sites that you host?
SteveD3 09-13-2002, 12:52 PM You have to understand that I have a privicy poloicy that keeps me from talking about clients, without their permission, this includes hosted pages. www.mp3q.net(IRC chan page) and www.mp3q.net/hosting ( Temp page until new site is ready(ETA 1 month) ) all are on the servers I use.
Feel free to use then as markers for uptime and speed is you wish. Also I can be contacted via the info on my contact page.
I know you understand the need for information about clients to be kept safe, and privite. There for I will assume you wont hold this aginst me.
Steve( or mp3q guy(haha))
raiden 09-13-2002, 07:51 PM out of interest do sites hosted by you have to put 'hosted by mp3q' on there sites.
not a big deal, just wondering :)
SteveD3 09-13-2002, 08:26 PM oh, hell no. Some ppl do cause they want to be cool, but I have never nor do I plan on making ppl have ads.
Steve
SteveD3 09-27-2002, 11:30 AM FYI, there is a new site for . Mp3q Webhosting (http://www.mp3qhosting.net) . Its more geared to user content for clients, but the FAQ has some good info. Also have some contact info for me as well. Look at the general FAQ
