I may get a contract with a city in Virginia to develop their website. They need a new design with a content management system (CMS). The current server they are using now is a Windows 2000 server, so the CMS has to be in ASP.
I already have a CMS developed from a previous client, but it will need to be modified accordingly. The overall system is rather simple, so it's nothing too intense.
The CMS would have to be modified based on the design and architecture of the site though. I can probably do the design myself, but I have too many other things to worry about.
So this is where the web-site designer comes in.
The site design must:
Be visually appealing (That was a freebie)
Contain a common theme
Have sense of humor (Light Approach)
Must be easy to update
Must have fast page loads
Must be easy to navigate
And must meet ADA requirements* (www.access-board.gov)
*you don't have to have experience with that
The city likes the following sites (they want to reflect these sites, but it must be unique in its own design and content):
http://www.sandiego.gov/
http://www.hampton.gov/
http://www.ci.richmond.va.us/
I personally think the sites above can be better, so we will provide a better design for this City.
Since we'll be doing business with a governement agency, I'll need to show who will be working on this project -- so I'm going to need names, contact info, etc. from you guys...and resumes would be nice! :). And a list of sites you've worked on before would be absolutely awesome.
But don't worry, I'm an easy going guy, so if you don't have that stuff, I can definitely help out.
After we do this one, there is DEFINITE possibility that I can hire you for larger projects later on...so this is definitely a good opportunity.
Well, I have to hand in this proposal by October 4, 2002. I would like to have a team ready by, oh, say September 13th. I want to impress the city by doing a demo of how their site would be, so if you think you'll be up to putting together a sample site design or something, we will definitely do that. Thank you very much for your time, I look forward to working with you.
Please eMail me at jay06902@hotmail.com for more details. The requirements above may be a little scarier than they truly are, so please do not hesitate to contact me if you think that you have the skills I need.
Once again, thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Jay
