View Full Version : Good Host? Need Your Help!
PixelAxis 09-07-2002, 01:38 PM I'm almost ready to launch, but before I do, I need your input!
My new hosting site will be http://www.advantahost.com
What does everyone think of it? How is the pricing/plans?
If people could give me a few pointers, I would greatly appreciate it before I go into the great world of hosting.

Chris Marks 09-07-2002, 01:59 PM The site looks pretty good and complete. I would definately make your support forums designed to match your site though, and perhaps remove it until you have a few clients. Any parts that aren't done I would remove too, if they won't be finished when you open, like the live chat link and manual on your support page.

You see, this is what pisses me off. People always go off and think other people have stolen designs. First, this design looks NOTHING alike, you just believe so. Stolen and inspired are also different. This style wasn't even inspired IMO.

Sure, you could probably point out a similarity here or there. But, really, how different can you get? After all, most sites are going to have a header and buttons and links and text, right? Most hosts have boxes displaying plans, and for a good reason -- it's easy to read quickly, and it draws attention.
If might be similar to HostRocket . . . to the extent that both are good, professional designs. And this is what a good, professional design looks like.
