How does one setup 4 different sets of nameservers to the same WHM account? [client request] Is it possible? There's only space for a second "optional" set of nameservers in the section where we add personalised nameservers in our WHM.

TIA. :)

[edit] - nevermind. Got it. :)

Sorry, I don't fully understand what you want to do, so probably I'll say something nonsense :)

What you want to do its provide to a domain 4 nameservers? if yes, then, you'll need to add 2 additional NS record to the domain's DNS Zone.

Hope that help

I think you don't need to set up nameservers in WHM, just give your customers 2 additional IPs (pointed to the same server as current nameservers' IPs) and tell them to register with their domain registrar and they will work well. I never try with WHM but when I used Alabanza they worked.

Check to see new IP's available for reseller.
Assign IP's for the 2 new nameservers
Edit their DNS zone to reflect the authoritive requests for those new nameservers in the reseller's DNS zone at the bottom of the page duplicating the current NS fields, but using ns3.domain.com ns4.domain.com and IP's you are giving to the reseller.

Add New Entries Below this Line

The reseller now adds these new nameservers at their registrar.

I think what he's asking is how to put more than 4 NS listing in the reseller panel for WHM. (4 sets * 2 NS per set = 8 NS)

I don't think this is actually possible, as WHM probably isn't written to handle more than the 4 nameservers there. Why would someone need 1 primary nameserver and 7 backups, tho?

I'd probably be better off setting up 4 smaller WHM accounts and assigning the personalised nameservers to each account, yes?

Why does he want all those name servers hosted on the same server? Are they hosted on the same server (yours) or is he trying to give himself redunandant secondary dns on a mass scale? Btw, all zones that are set up via whm will be master's not slaves unless you turn the whole server into a slave - Again can't see the reason for having so many name servers set up on one machine.... :D
