View Full Version : Get your .sr domain... only $299.00 a year!
kkimmel 09-07-2002, 04:39 AM I went to register some domains at DotSter.com tonight, and I notice a new SLD on the list. sr. (New to me, anyway.) Well, it is only $299.00 a year. Is this proof that whatever registry that is cranking these things out is profiteering?
Knogle 09-07-2002, 04:51 AM $299/year?!
wow.
davidb 09-07-2002, 05:31 AM I had to see it to belive it. $2999.90 for 10 years, HA. You honestly think anyone will use em, of course a few were said to be sold, but most of them listed were not. Anyone find a reason for justifying that, heh. I mean they make NSI look like charity prices(of course for .coms)
eddy2099 09-07-2002, 07:24 AM This kindda remind me of the .tv when it started.
This is also pretty outrageous.

luvluvgee 09-07-2002, 07:36 AM That's pretty much the standard for domains at cheapnames.co.uk (ironic, I know). Most of their top-level international domains are that price.
Richard Ward 09-07-2002, 10:48 AM Places like Suriname (.sr) are trying to cash in on the .com/.net/.org "good domain" shortage. These TLDs have always existed, but were usually regulated to persons and businesses residing in the country.
Geek3 09-07-2002, 10:56 AM what does .sr even stand for??
Solid Reef?
Sober Ralph?
;)
DotComster 09-07-2002, 11:11 AM Even More expensive that dot coms ? LOL!
not good as an alternative - but what do I know.
kkimmel 09-07-2002, 11:58 AM I bet NSI would charge us rates like that if ICANN would let them get away with it. Then again, I think ICANN would let thme get away with it except there would likely be the formation of a lynch mob out to hang ICANN executives from the nearest tree too...
OldOne 09-07-2002, 12:33 PM SR is the first Internet domain name for “Seniors” in the English speaking communities, as well as “Señores” (Spanish), “Signori” (Italian), and “Senhores” (Portuguese).
tribby 09-07-2002, 12:52 PM Seniors are usually the ones who get discounts ... and yet the senior domain is $299/yr? Ha.
