View Full Version : Victim of Earhost?
opportu 09-06-2002, 06:46 PM Hello Everybody,
It has most recently come to my attention that EarHost.com has gone bust. I'm not sure how many clients EarHost had but I'm sure there were quite a few.
On behalf of the company I co-own, iKiwi Internet Limited, I would be willing to help out the former Earhost clients with large discounts on our plans.
If you're interested in this offer please email me dominic.ohare@ikiwi.net
Kindest Regards,
Dominic O'Hare

edude 09-06-2002, 08:44 PM Hahaha :D :D :D
Speaks wonderfully of your ethics!
Now heres my best:
When the above host goes bust, please contact me and Ill give you excellent deals! :D
opportu 09-06-2002, 09:06 PM I'm just helping out screwed clients guys, You don't need to be such #@$!% about it.
okihost 09-06-2002, 09:08 PM I think the point he is making is that you are using another hosts misfortune you gain customers.. which all and all is not cool.. this has been gone over many times with CW and Jumpline and the rest of the failures..
edude 09-06-2002, 09:14 PM :agree: with Mr Oki.
opportu 09-06-2002, 09:20 PM OKIHost, I wouldn't say Earhost was unfortunate, TimPD is an outright scammer.
If Earhost was in some financial trouble the most responsible way to actually shut down would be to notify thier clients and explian they would have to move their sites although Earhost's owners did nothing of the sort, letting client's websites go offline.
If It makes you happy I will withdraw my offer. Once again I was only trying to help out victims of Earhost with discounted rates as It is not possible for me to provide free service to these people.
If you REALLY want to help, provide them free hosting for a month or so, till they find a new host. If NOT, then stop using another host's misfortune to gain customers...
aquos 09-07-2002, 12:11 AM Will you match their offer? http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69279
EXACTLY!
Think Ill play the good samaritan for this month! :D
Please PM me if you were a customer of theirs. Ill set you up free for a month on our cpanel server. We will not be able to offer you 100s of GBs. (Edit: For free that is!)
So if you need a quick setup, get in touch!

opportu 09-07-2002, 02:35 AM Yes, I will offer free hosting for a month. I never did specify what I would offer although you guys were so quick to acuse me.
winner 09-07-2002, 02:37 AM what happened to earhost? any info?
i have an account with them, my website is up. this is only THEIR website that is down.
Check the "Web Hosting Forum", there is a huge thread in there! Apparently both timpd and fractiousws have both been banned from this forum and so they dont have a voice on wht anymore!
Disclaimer: I could be severely wrong! This is pure heresy! :D
opportu 09-07-2002, 03:16 AM Most servers of theirs are down, We ourselves had a reseller account with them (Not a reseller now) although It was still in use.
opportu 09-07-2002, 03:55 AM -- My above post does not sound right :S, lol.
-- I'd love to know how to contact Tim or James, can someone help?
ikiwi.net 09-07-2002, 04:04 AM Just a note to say that dominicohare knows first hand about earhost as he bought a years resellers acocunt before he came part of ikiwi internet. So please don't abuse him.
He was in the process of copying the accounts over to my servers.
On another note,
I had a request to match what earhost offered, but if I did that we'd go bust as well! WE can offer Plan 1 - 1gig 18gigbw for US$14.95 (normaly $19.95) a month but no freebibes like phpmanager, domain enom account etc etc.
http://www.ikiwi.net/resellers.html
Quality yet very affordable internet solutions.
aquos 09-07-2002, 11:13 AM You can scrape the free stuff, but 12GB space/50GB bandwidth for $35/month for example.
WebHostz You can match it?
Thanks all.
aquos,
EXACTLY! was in response to the post below!
