I'm currently with directnic.com, but im thinking about moving to godaddy or namecheap

Which one would you guys recommend?
Does godaddy have free transfer of ownership?

Would namecheap be safe in the long run since its an enom reseller?

Hi,

GoDaddy works fine for me. Ownership transfer is free now.

Perhaps something changed about NameCheap over the last few months, but when I registered a domain with them in May it was impossible to register nameservers through the domain control panel. I had to send an e-mail to their support to have it done.

Try www.opensrs.org

OpenSRS is NOT an end-user site! A newbie, for example, will definitely be lost over there ...

Namecheap has more feautures than godaddy.

Also, godaddy pricing is a lot more for .biz/.info etc. While namecheap is all 8.88 for CNOBI

Both are good choices.
Just stay away from netSol and register.com.

I've moved about 30 domains from DirectNic to NameCheap over the last year. Everything has gone smooth.

I prefer humble ENOM resellers:

http://www.namepark.net Good prices and having ENOM as the master company is nice. :)

I have domains with both.

Godaddy is fine, as long as you don't register client domains and don't try to leave them. If you register clients, they will send special offers to your clients, also you can't have all clients in 1 account, because they would give away the password to any of those clients and the she / he would have access to all other domains...

It took more than 5 weeks to get some domains transferred away from them. After contacting the BBB, they finally let me transfer.

Namecheap has a very simple, but good domain manager, support is fast and good. I started transferring all my domains to them.
