Well, I got a new VPS account, moved my website over during the past few days, tested it, and now I'm ready to change my nameserver with Yahoo Domains. Now I'm really confused. My hosting company said I need to change my nameservers with my registrar like so:
ns1.mydomain.com using IP xx.xxx.5.xxx
ns2.mydomain.com using IP xx.xxx.6.xxx
Now when I'm at the "Change Your Nameserver" section where it has my primary and secondary nameservers from my old shared hosting company how do I specify the IPs for my new ns1 and ns2?
I mean I don't just type:
"ns1.mydomain.com using IP xx.xxx.5.xxx" in the Primary box and save it do I? I saw some other guys in some other posts say to
"ns1.mydomain.com = IP xx.xxx.5.xxx" but I really can't find any good info about how to do this except it seems everyone is universally in agreement that Yahoo is pretty bad for this kind of thing. I think I saw some posts that said Yahoo will not even let you set up any type of ns1 or ns2 if it contains your domain name in it. What the heck to do?
