Do these prices include the new power surcharge you are rolling out to existing customers per server?

Yes, this is our current pricing as per our online order form and website.

Paul

Thanks for the clarification Paul.

I was interested in ordering a new server with the free setup offer. Just not sure why my current server costs more even before the new power surcharge kicks in, than a new order for the same server would cost. And the new server includes the £6+VAT surchage, which makes the old one look even more expensive.

If the website is indeed current pricing WITH the surcharge then it looks like you're issuing punitive charges on your existing client base. While trying to attract new customers at much lower prices with no surchage. That is not a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

If you've specific queries about your account can I recommend emailing support@rapidswitch.com? I don't have the details handy but I can categorically refute that the charges are punitive and would be more than happy to discuss things such as this through the appropriate channels.

We are offering full disclosure on the price rises as a result of increased costs of energy but I'm sure you wouldn't want me to discuss your account in the public domain.

If you can raise a ticket we can have a look at any queries you have.

Regards,

Paul

I don't wish to discuss my account. I have already made my decisions about this.

New Customer:
Dual Core 2.2Ghz, 1x250gb drive, No RAID, CentOS, No Control Panel = £64.63/m

Old Customer (me):
Dual Core 2.2Ghz, 1x250gb drive, No RAID, CentOS, No Control Panel = £69.33/m + £6.00 power surcharge

Seems to me the new customer is getting the same deal I got, for about a fiver less (I do understand monthly fees vary with different offers), with no power surcharge? If that is the case then these charges ARE punitive against existing customers.

Again, existing customers doesn't matter much in this thread. If this is the way you choose to do business, that's entirely your decision. :)

Here's what I really care about:

I want to know whether these prices on new orders truly reflect the new power surcharges or not. You say they do. I don't see how they can unless you're having us existing customers susidise new signups through higher surcharges.

If the prices in this offer do not reflect the surcharge (that will be added from November 1st) then this offer should not have been posted given the announcement you made on Friday about imminent pricing changes that will hit everyone. You will be hitting any new sign ups to this offer with a ~10% price rise in a month's time. And this offer was posted AFTER you announced the pricing changes to your existing client base.

If the surcharges are as necessary as you say they are, then everyone should be paying them from November 1st.

So I'm assuming everyone will be paying the surcharges.

The new prices do include the price rises as I was personally involved in the adjustment.

The cost of our packages do drop in respect of the hardware as and when we're able to source it at lower costs; This will explain the disparity between the prices.

If you'd like to discuss this further I'd be more than happy to arrange for one of our customer service team to look at it for you. You can contact them through support@rapidswitch.com
