There are already some threads about what resellers will have to pay after the rate increase, but what about end users? GoDaddy is currently charging $9.99, but does anyone know what they will be charging after the rate increase?

What about 1and1 and other registrars? I would be curious to know how this will affect domain registrations as a whole.

From what I hear it's about a $0.50 increase.

What I have been told is using a coupon code like MTECH35, which currently gets you a .com for $6.95, at the new price they'll be $7.49.

Price change kicks in on September 30th.

Why don't ask your registrar directly. They probably will not change the prices...
I think that you are wasting time guys guessing on increase..

I agree. What is the point of speculation about price increases... this benefits nobody and only creates FUD.

FUD = Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt

You are better to simply contact the registrar in which you are interested, and ask them what will be their new pricing after the increase.

There is no doubt, the registry is increasing the prices and most registrars are not telling their customers until the day the price is increased

I have no fear, i renew today, so i have the renewal assured at a certain (current) price

The are creating FUD, not customers asking what will they do

For what its worth, they raised it 70 cents, from $9.99 to $10.69.

I asked not because I am interested in them, but because they set a precedent for domain prices everywhere. There is a lot of talk in this forum about reselling domains, but a lot of people don't stop to think that no matter where you are in the reseller chain, what really matters is what end users decide, and GD's price to the end user has a significant effect on that.

I use MyDomain.com mainly and they have not changed their prices like others have. Domains with the coupon "bargaincat.com" are still only $7.61 for reg & renewals and as low as $5.95 for bulk names. Transfers are still just $6.75 with the same coupon as well. It's refreshing to know that they have not put up their prices, whether they will in the future is another question...

Oh, just expect them to raise prices. One can only sustain something so much for so long, especially if outside forces practically compel them to do so.

But for now, enjoy. :)
