Say I wanted to start an online community (w/chat & e-mail)- what should i consider?
I've seen a couple of hosting prices for 5gigs of traffic and 50mb of storage for 19.95/month. Is that good or what?

Could somebody please give me a little insight as to how much traffic I might need and what else to consider?

Thanx. Much appreciated.

It depends on how well you do.
Forum like this, WHT, requires a dedicated server or similar. I believe WHT consums more than 8+ gig per month but this is a sucessful forum. Not many people are able to start and maintain the forum until the sucess.

so for small forum, around 100 members with 10000+ posts, you would need 100MB with 2 gig or so.

Check this url out.

You can always use some cheap stuff like http://www.everyone.net. Really cheap though....just a suggestion.
