I'm think about buying a TV game console but don't know which one is better. I like to play many different games, many chooses, not too expensive, and popular system. Could you get me an idea?

PS2 if you want a lot of choices, but for graphics or eye candy rather I would have to say Xbox.

All 3 consoles have their own particular pros and cons. What games catch your eye the most? Basically what it comes down to is, which ever console has the games you like, go with it. You can't really go wrong. All 3 are good consoles with good games. Pick what YOU like! ;) :D

Good luck.

confirmed Sony junkie here. Half the hardware I own has Sony written on it somewhere - from my PS2, to my digital camera, mobile phone, CD burner... :)

I currently now have all 3 systems. Here is my overview, of the three.

PS2:
Has the biggest selection of games. They just introduced their online gaming system, which is awesome. Graphics are solid, and the controller is simple to use.

XBox:
Supperior graphics, loading times, etc. Selection of games is okay, however the controller is bulky, and hard to get used to.

GameCube:
Not that many games out, most are geared towards kids. System is the smallest I have ever seen, controller is okay. Graphics are okay.

I agree to make your choices simpler purchase all 3 if you have the means. I have all 3 systems at home, and my son and I play for hours on the weekend.

Actually right now I'm going to the local software store and picking up Mario Sunhing and Dead to Rights.

Coming from an Xbox fansite, I'd have to say Xbox all the way! If you have broadband, you would definitely want Xbox for online play. PS2 did introduce their version, yet compared to what Xbox will offer starting November 15, it is nothing. If you're an oldie who likes Mario and what not (coming from Nintendo, Atari, etc) I'd say get the GameCube. The GG would probably best suit your needs in that category. If you want a selection of games, go for PS2. Graphics aren't GREAT, but are GOOD. The gaming selection is obviously better compared to the Xbox, since it's been out an extra year. But if you want gaming to the max with First Person Shooters, Halo, Halo, Halo, and Halo, I say go with the Xbox. And as I said, Xbox Live (the online service coming out 11/15) will definitely please your online gaming needs.

I'm sure the xbox is great, but I shiver at the thought of blue screens on my TV :)

My youngest girl still plays her Sega and Super Nintendo most, my middle girl is still playing on the Dreamcast, and my teen son (and hubby) are glued to the XBox....

What we like about the PS2 is its larger game library. We chose the XBox anyway however since the technological abilities were higher and we believe after this Christmas the game library will be greatly increased.

As for me..... I still miss my old Atari - Space Invaders, Pac Man, Galaga.... :bawling:

I have both (XBox & PS2, also a Dreamcast) and must say the XBox is better (Harddisk and LAN, and with the MOD-Chips you have a MiniPC) as the PS2. OK PS2 have at the Moment the Game-Availability BONUS (especially the Anime-Games are for Me important) but first wait until the XBox is the same Time on the Market as the PS2 and then lets judge.

I love my XBox. I pre-ordered it and got it the day it came out. Come to think of it, I pre-ordered it almost exactly a year from today. Any way, the XBox is great. The only problem is I don't have enough time to play it.

has to be x-box. the game pube doesnt hack it, and the ps2 is great , esp GT3 but its not quite as good as the x-box, but if you preferthe games its not a bad choice.

Right,

The XBOX is not going to live long. Already game shops are condesing its shelves to 1 or 2, and it is too expensive. Also its the only console i would reccomend you have a wheelbarrow to cart home. ITS MASSIVE LOL!
The plastation 2 (original name) has the most games. This doesnt mean they are all going to be great, of couse you get the duff games on all consoles (SPICE WORLD ON PS1 ANYONE !!!). The PS2 will be around for a long time and is a good choice.
The Nintendo Gamecube is my choice. I think its from a reliable company, it will have more games than the N64 console. The graphics look most impressive and its price is nice and cheap. Its also the first Sencond Generation console to feature a screen like the PSONE, so you can play it in the car.

Hehe, its up to you.

Although it might be wrong to do, there is a chip and many emulators for almost every other console that will run on the xbox, not to mention linux :)

I don't have time to play games much right now but since it has an 8 gig hd, it makes for a nice living room mp3 player.

They all have pro's and cons but the pro's for the xbox outway the pro's for the other consoles in my opinion.

I bought a PS2. They had the Xbox for the same price and a Gamecube for cheap, but I wanted to play FFX!

Xbox. The PS2's were designed to screw up after every 2-3 years of use.

I love my XBox. Last weekend when I was out looking at a game, I noticed many of the same names (of games) between the PS2 games and XBox. The XBox graphics are great, the XBox Live is awesome..and it's just an all around great system IMO.

We have all 3 and each of my kids will support his or her own system. They are all good as far as i can tell... but then i dont play them, i only break up the arguments they create.

Gamecube. It's the only one I've played, and Metroid Prime isn't too bad. I've been really into Nintendo 64 lately, and the SNES has lots of good ones aswell. Gameboy Color and previous versions are also neat.

However, I don't game much, so these opinions are outdated.

Best for games: PC :)

Saying that, I say get X-Box put X-Box Linux on it, change the hard-drive to a 120GB one, and mod it a bit if you want :)

i have both an x-box and a ps2 (since crimbo day)

and personally i think the x-box is slightly better in terms of graphics although i have only played 3 games on it they have all been very good tolook at and halo has excellent gameplay.

Thats not to say the ps2 isnt great it is its just there doesnt seem to be as much detail if you ask me, but i could be way off the mark here i'm coming from a 'How does this work wow i died straight away' sort of place so i'm not really in the best position to judge..

I vote PS2, I own one and have never played either of the other two... I hardly play my PS2, but I do like some of the games on it. :)
