I have hosted many accounts as a reseller with oneworldhosting.com for over 4 years now. The other day, I stepped out and started looking for a new provider because I am tired of paying someone else for every account I host on my reseller site. Boy did I get a rude awakening!!!!
In two days, I opened accounts with two different companies based on a LOT of research and direct questions to people at the top. My biggest requirement is CUSTOMER SERVICE FIRST. I was assured by both companies they were also oriented that way. Their packages weren't the best but I went with both; sort of testing the waters.
BAM, both screwed it up right out of the friggin door. I cancelled the first account ASAP and i am in the process of cancelling the second (seems they really DON'T have someone taking care of tickets 24/7, so it will be Monday before my ticket is even seen by someone). I have been spoiled I guess and yes I am still looking but short of a company walking on water next, I just don't know. Is this the norm now?
Frustrated!
No, not the norm, but rampant with "budget" resellers (assuming you went with one of those). Plenty of decent resellers out there, but since it's been ages since I've had one of those accounts, I can't recommend anything current.

Try some intense research in WHT mate. You won't be disappointed. Hope you will get a good provider soon.

What kind of problems were you having?
Any company will tell you that they're customer service orientated, but whether they live up to your expectations is another thing.
That kind of question can easily be answered by searching for a few reviews from others that have used their service.

Hi
i understand your pain if your support with the host is mon-fri 9am - 5pm weekdays, a sales department is fine on these hours, but not support!
Have you asked your host if they plan on going 24x7 soon?

I spoke with the owner of the firm and he said they "plan" on going 24/7 soon. After looking at a couple of his posts here it seems he has been planning for a LONG, LONG time. Oh well, you live and you learn.
The truth is everyone looks for different things; you need enough disk space and bandwidth to grow, dedicated IP's but not at 24 to 36 bucks a year per IP, private nameservers for a professional look, a good hosting panel to manage your resold accounts and for billing and sign up requirements, and a few odd & ends too for glamour but my priority has been and always will be customer service. If I submit a service ticket I fully expect it to be addressed within 2 hours MAX. If a company has a customer load too large to offer that kind of response, they need to look into hiring more people or find another line of work.
I don't submit service tickets for the fun of it. The truth is I always do my own research into a problem before I even head in that direction. But as a reseller, I don't have enough control over the server to make things happen, so a host company needs to address response times to opened tickets, not ignore them until they decide to respond.
By the way, the company I just signed on with two days ago; I have an email from the man at the top who responded to my email about support in which he stated "we feel the same and offer that and more". I have two tickets opened with them right now; one asking for a product and reg key to activate it and get it up and running (it is included free of charge with the account, you just don't know where to get it cause they did not tell me) and the second ticket telling them to cancel my account and refund my money. Both tickets have yet to be responded to as of now!
