Well, i am making a excel spreadsheet with other Registrars who accept Resellers. I put here a 5/5 for an INITIAL evaluation. I think dynadot can now create the reseller program without much trouble.. or namecheap make special offer for resellers before we move our business to resellone

Tell me if i Forgot Any1.

Non Logicboxes :

Enom 4/5 (some of us hate them and their price structure)
Tucows 3/5 (price)
Nicline 3/5 (i dont know them)
resellone 4/5 (looks good)
srsplus (3/5) trustable
onlinenic (1/5) they dont update dns and have worst interfase
namecheap reseller program (3/5) unknown for me
Godaddy / WWD (3/5) (TOS and deposit)
planetdomain (3/5) (prices)

Yes Logicboxes

dfordomains (i get a good price with the guy of other day)
stargate/uk2
netearth
srsgenie

I remember three logicboxes Registrars:
qualispace (3.5/5) strange price commision
and estdomains 1/5 (scammers)
Netlynx (1/5) price is 8.5

i cant comprehend how enom would be an option to RC:(....their prices are higher to RC even after the hike, and anyways RCs interface and new freebies give it a definite advantage...

hence, heres my rating..

enom 1/5

tucows 2/5 (price is definitely too high)

Nicline 2.5/5 (no other products aside from domain names - theres hardly any margin on domain names, i make profits from side products)

resellone 2/5 (completely new and i just did a lookup on webhosting.info and they have only 50k domains, thts very small for a registrar, hence unreliable, in case of a registrar, u cant shift unless u know for sure cause its a big hassle transferring, and i cant find their new prices anywhere, PLUS i have heard they have lots of commisions which they dont show in their pricing)

onlinenic 3/5 (i used to use this provider early on, had good prices, but interface was strictly ok)

srsplus 2/5 (not many ccTLDs and not good side products always a turn off)

All in all, i have made my decision of sticking with RC after considerable research, last tie around i remember, when registry hike took place, RC hardly raised their price, so this time around i was expecting it to be a little on the higher side.

I haven't seen any discussion on www.nicline.com - located in Spain
- currently has a free trial for resellers
- regular price is $7.49 (before October increase) with $300 initial payment

dude, read licantropo and my post, we've both covered nicline...

To go in detail, i had looked at them a couple of months back, niclines pricing is very ambigious, how the slabs are calculated is not very clear, and they have been known to change their pricing for a case to case basis..

Their interface and control is sucky

A big turn off for me was that they just provide Domain names, no additional services, from which i can make some real profit..

I think it's soon to look for alternatives, i'm considering Enom, it's only 6 cents more than resellerclub

But we still don't know the new pricing of many companies

Resellone forums are dead, it seems an abandoned company, they haven't release the pricing in their forums, probably didn't sent to customers

and other registrars still remain silent, we have to wait, renewing now will give us some time to think of alternatives

if we ignored price, what would your ratings be?

if we ignored price, what would your ratings be?

I'm not the opener but also a UK2/stargate customer.

Until now your service was reasonably good, sometimes got orders "locked in processing" for unknown reason (i'm also a resellerclub customer and i'm familiar with logicboxes panel, so i found those locks strange, not happening with RC)
Your current pricing is correct, if you asked me 6 months ago i would give you a 4.5 over 5 points.

But now it's 19th September, 11 days before a price hike from the registry, the price hike is well known by ALL REGISTRARS since April, they have had 6 full months to calculate the new prices and tell their resellers (we are those!)

I find a complete lack of respect that a lot of registrars are ignoring their customers and not telling them if they are going to raise the price or not and how much.

So, today i can't give ratings for registrars that are not announcing their new pricing, if i would have to open a domain reseller account today i wouldn't be able to do it, because i don't have information about the pricing, a domain reseller is a long term business, not a decission that one can make based on a pricing that will only be available for 11 days.

This is an answer to UK2 question, but in fact is a criticism FOR ALL REGISTRARS, NOT ONLY UK2/STARGATE.

Sorry, but i can't rate your company today.

Pd: If you find that i'm 'irate', yes, i am, but i'm not irate against UK2, in fact i've just transfered about 300 domains to uk2/stargate from another registrar that caused me to be irate.

we (resell.biz) have not raised prices?

The point of the question I asked was actually - if ALL pricing was the same, what platform would you guys prefer?

Enom/LB/OpenSRS/etc

PD : Nicline have a problem in my opinion. Each year you need put same money and not only look unclear, their prices are not good or bad. Medium in all except public information (poor)

enom is ok, trusted and long standing company, and api is ok, however their platform is nothing to be proud about...

I would prefer LB....i think very few people actually use their entire capability....i, for one, manege my entire business, using that single system

OpenSRS is old now, they arent the company they used to be, i guess thats why they have been dropping

Ok yeah,. LB is powerful. Opensrs have problems as registrars in no support... but i think resellone.net use that software, the opensrs one.

RC has sent a mail 11 days prior to registry price hike. What about other registrars...i haven't heard from any.

Anyways, RC price after the hike is still lower than other registrars .... so if others decide to increase as well....you know here you will land up

will stick with RC

I am one of the happy resellers of UK2, and I am also one of those waiting for them to tell me their new pricing!
They have been great to me, but I will start to worry if they still don't raise their prices. I don't want to lose my customers' domains just because UK2 loses money on this and go away due to the fact that they don't raise their prices while they can.

we are working on concepts that should keep domain prices as is...we really want to.
Resell.biz is a part of uk2group.com, the revenue from resell.biz is a very small part of our business, and you should not worry about loosing your customers. We have been around for more than 10 years, we are very protable, and we plan to stay around.
