Does anyone know how to delete a dir when using FTP , even if there is files in it ? Or is this possible ?
I got a bunch of stuff to delete and I have to open each individual dir , then delete the files to make it empty...then delete the dir....then on to the next dir ....etc etc

....is there an easier way when I know they are garbage to me anyway...?

Does it give you any error? I would guess thats more of a ftp software problem, not the server. I would check the settings or the help file. What ftpd is running?
No error...just doesnt let me delete the folder unless there is no files in it. It is maybe a safegard in a way to prevent you deleting files you do not want to delete. But there should be a way to over ride it. Its too time consuming.....unless it is supposed to be that way....I dont know.
I use WS_FTP LE ....

Its a software issue with your FTP client...
I use the FTP program that comes with IBM Toppage, and it allows you to delete directories regardless of how many files are in them (it opens the folder and deletes the contents then it deletes the folder)... It can also show htaccess files :)
You could prolly email your host and have them delete the directories, gut doing it yourself may be faster, if your host is slow at responding to support emails/tickets.

in ws_ftp pro, under advanced, you can select "allow deletion of non empty directories"
cant remember if le as the advanced menu options. cute ftp also allows the deletion of non empty dir's...
