View Full Version : Migrate from eNom PDQ to WHMCS ??
SoundsGood 09-16-2008, 01:45 PM I tried posting this in the WHMCS forum, but it's pretty quiet there, so...
I currently have an eNom PDQ reseller site. I'd like to migrate from the PDQ site to a new/custom site, but I just thought of a possible snag...
All of my current customers are used to logging in to the PDQ site using their login name and passsword (which is actually eNom's). If I switch over to a new site design using WHMCS, how would all of the users log in and manage their existing services? (like domain names, enom hosting, enom Web Site Creator, etc).
Is it even possible to make this transition, or am I in for some major headaches here?
Thanks!
mrzippy 09-18-2008, 10:38 AM Well, assuming that WHMCS offers the ability to manage all those eNom services and products (hosting, enom Web Site Creator, etc), then your customers would need to login to WHMCS.
I think you might want to check with WHMCS developer if the software includes ability to manage all those eNom services. My understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) is that WHMCS only offers domain management, but not all the other eNom stuff.

It found out from Matt that it does not. I'm pretty much dead in the water here, since there does NOT appear to be a way to migrate.
Basically, I'm stuck with the PDQ site. :(

May I ask why you want to migrate from the PDQ system?
Is it because of the limited (ugly) design? If so, be sure to submit a helpdesk ticket into the eNom support system and tell them how you feel about the design. Also tell your account manager, so they are aware.
If lots and lots of PDQ site owners are complaining about the crappy design.. then eNom will have some incentive to create new designs... otherwise, they will think everything is good.
Are your customers unhappy with the PDQ software?

Sure, that's a big part of it. But a bigger issue is the lack of tools and features for the PDQ owner. Too many to list here, but most are offered by WildWest and ResellerClub.

Oh, they are VERY aware that I am unhappy. Their priorities are simply elsewhere. They say that they care... but if they really cared, they would have done something by now.

They seem to be fine. But revenue would be better if I had access to some additional tools and features, as mentioned above.
mrzippy 09-18-2008, 11:58 AM May I ask what tools and features are missing?
What did your account manager say when you told them this? You said, "Their priorities are simply elsewhere.". Where would that be? Their entire business is to entice and keep their resellers happy, and the PDQ is a huge component of their tools.
I've discussed this issue with our own account manager a few times over the last few months, and I do believe they take suggestions and opinions seriously. You are also welcome to participate in the quarterly discussion with their CIO, if you want to talk directly with the guy at the top...
I have no vested interest in this myself, as I do not use (or recommend) the PDQ sofware, despite having thousands of reselles under us.
My only reason is because I think it's stupid they charge a yearly fee for something that looks horrible and should be free since it would result in much more business for them.
The majority of our resellers are using Registry Rocket (free) or the API. (Or they just register domains manually..)

Ha! Not for a long time. DemandMedia (eNom's owner) is mostly focused on their PPC parking program and their aftermarket site.
