How can you se if you have a plain reseller account, or a VDS with the same features as a reseller account ? Like WHM/Cpanel

What is the difference ?

Thanks

If you had a VDS, you'd most probably have some form of root access. Ask your provider. Maybe they'll know. ;)

I see that term VDS being thrown around allot lately.
If you have a VDS you have your own Apache config basiclly and root access to your section of the server, in my opinion anyway.

As far as I know there is no way to do that with WHM cpanel at this time.

I see a few companies calling large reseller plans VDS plans(Earhost) when in reality they are not any different from any other resller plan.

You can do this but quotas and BIND don't work. :bawling:

hmm, the email headers is showing the domain of my host, should it be like that ?

Yes and no.. The email headers will show the servers name which if your host set it up correctly for anon resellers will show an anon name. If it shows your host name it means the server name is using the hosts url.

Ok, but that doesn't sound like a VDS server to me. I had the impresion that when you rented a VDS you'll get a percentage of the servers power, and that you was not anon but given your own mini server setup

Well that is my point above a VDS should for all intents and purposes be setup that way. Other than that it is a shared reseller plan. Are you using WHM/Cpanel?

Yes, I asked if I could get it installed instead of ensim. What bothers me is that my customers can easily se my hosts domain, It seems like I just got a reseller account instead of the VDS I ordered :bawling:

and the trick is keeping google away from your anonymous nameservers.

Yep, that's about right. Just think of your website as an apartment in a larger apartment building. Now with shared hosting, there is 1 hot water system - it's down in the basement. Each tenant in the building draws hot water from that hot water system. If someone uses too much, this effects others who are trying to draw from the hot water system.

With a VDS, you have your own smaller hot water system that only you can use. Your usage shouldn't effect the other tenants in the building. :)
