Is there a

I use php coin www.phpcoin.com
Pretty good, simple and can be advanced/confusing if you want it to be. :)

I've been playing with SmarterTrack from SmarterTools, the free edition comes with all the features as the enterprise version but is limited to one support user.
its actually really good, very powerful, has built in knowledge base and also a live chat facility.

2 problems with that:
#1 - Not free ( a requirement in the thread)
#2 - Not exactly the best support.
