So I have been looking at Google.com and they keep posted the first couple pixels of text on my page (which really doesn't describe what my site has to offer). I have meta tags that say what I want the page to be titled as well as a description. How do I go about getting it to say what I have in my meta tags as opposed to the content on my page?
Many thanks in advance.

in the <head> tag add:
<meta name="Description" content="Your Description Here">
It might take a little bit before google crawls your website again and re-indexes your updated description.

your description-tag seems to be ok (although the rest of your code is pretty messy...) maybe google crawled your site before you put the meta-tag online?

thanks for the help guys!
any idea how often google crawls? i hear things as short as a day and as long as 3 months.
also, any idea how I can "clean" up my coding. i basically upload my file based on what frontpage spits out for me.

Its depends mostly on 2 things:
1)how many (quality) backlinks there are to your page and
2)how often you update with fresh content.
Good luck!

For help with Google in particular you might wish to sign up with Google Webmaster Tools, which are available to access with a Google (Gmail) account. You can even add a site map for Google to crawl there.

changing the description will not happen over night .. google now uses the description tag for most websites but some times the description is still now shown
