Would it be smart to make a company that sold domains only? Or should I sell something else?

Or should I sell something else? flitcher 09-04-2002, 05:20 PM Are you referring to unregistered domains or registered domains that you own and are selling? Because if its for domains you own you should only start a company if you have REALLY, REALLY, REALLY good domains. There are lots of sites out there that sell their domains, but there are only a select few that sell really good domains and make money doing it. Genix 09-04-2002, 05:24 PM I meant unregged domains. Axel Teflon 09-04-2002, 06:45 PM Nah, personally I don't think its such a brilliant idea. To be honest, theirs too many other places out their selling domains and for you to get somewhere offering domain registration the only thing that first attacts people will be the price. Do you think you could keep up the competition? (including Price and Support) Your better starting your own hosting company and offering domain serivce through that. citrus 09-04-2002, 06:58 PM Well, what would make you unique from your competitors? Who needs you when they've got thousands of others to choose from. Sorry, although this may sound kind of discouraging, I'm just trying to give you something to think about...;) Tippy 09-08-2002, 11:47 AM Sure there are thousands of sites to register domains at. If you could match what they offer and can compete with their prices and support I say go for it. Its so easy these days to become a reseller and not too expensive to startup. Mike TheWatcher2 09-09-2002, 03:26 PM Just do it. You will never know if you don't do it, you have to measure the pros and cons of the business. No business is easy task. zoli 09-10-2002, 01:49 AM Actually you don't have too much to loose, just be sure to have a real business plan. DotComster 09-10-2002, 03:32 PM Zoltan is right - just learn ther basics first. |
