I used to be a webmaster just like most people on here and had some hosts hang up on me, cut my site without warning, and the list goes on and on...

I am curious if on how many people on these boards have had similiar experiences...

i was a happy customer of forsite.com until recently when my site gets more popular ... my site was terminated without any warning or they don't even care to reply 2 emails that i sent them to confirm that my account was terminated and not some human errors ... that caused my site to offline for 40+ hours!!! :(

hmm, I remember being hanged up on the worst feeling.

It made me so mad, its like they are playing god with your business and they don't care...

If they are playing god, then it's a some kind of evil and ugly scandinavian one ;) I was a webmaster too, and here's my short, but sad story : host with win9x machine on the 33.6 dialup connection with the static IP address, running O'Raily's WebSitePro, WarFTPd, and MERCUR mailserver. ;)))

My first "non-free" host was OC12host.com. I signed up for their budget hosting for a year for around $40+. Then I started to realize what "bandwidth" was when I started getting over the monthly limit and had to pay more than my measly monthly payment :)

So to make the story short, I signed up for a different hosting company BUT I never cancelled my account with OC12host because I was planning on using them as a "download" server for some files that I make available for download.

A few weeks after I finished setting up my site on the new server, I went back to my OC12host.com using my static IP address and found a different site! I e-mailed support and they never responded. I e-mailed again after a week and still no response. I e-mail all departments, sales, support, even the webmaster demanding a refund but to no avail. Although it was only $40+ dollars that I lost, it was still money spent with nothing gained in return. I hate OC12host.com... they never even sent me even one e-mail about why they terminated my account. Host like that should never be in business. I am hoping that other newbies out there will find this message and stay away from OC12host.com.
