If someone hacks your websites and deletes one of your hdd's used for raid, will the other one be deleted as well since it's "mirrored"?

Yes, If someone deletes your files from a mirrored RAID array then it will be removed from both disks.

Remeber: RAID is not a backup solution. It's merely there for operational redundancy. No level of RAID can solve the above problem.

RAID is mainly there for making sure if one hard drive fails, that there is no interruption as (usually) the data is mirrored exactly on another drive.

Yes, which is why it's important to keep a back up copy of your data rather than relying on the RAID to save you if something goes wrong.

You should have a backup solution for all your data. I find it best to backup all my servers once a week during low traffic times.

I don't think he was hacked, he just wants to be sure just in case it happens.
