A beta Fantastico-to-Installatron Converter is now available at the administrator level of Installatron.

The tool is designed to allow mass-importing of installs created by other auto-installers, and successful imports can then be used and upgraded through Installatron as if Installatron had created the install.

Keep in mind, this is a beta tool. Our internal testing has it working 100%, however we still want to give it a good public test before making a formal announcement.

I haven't tried it yet, but if it works.. this could be the impetus needed to finally switch our servers over to installatron.

(Installatron is better and cheaper then fantastico, imho. Our internal testing has shown customers prefer it, but all our existing servers use fantastico, so we haven't been able to switch over. If this conversion utility works, then we're one step closer.)

I have actually stopped using Fantastico for my personal stuff. (:eek2:) Which is huge, as I used to be a BIG Fantastico fan, used it all the time on my personal sites. Well, Fantastico's SLOW updates are leaving my scripts vulnerable for too long, so I have taken to manually upgrading them. For new installs, if Installatron doesn't have it, I install it manually now.

I don't particularly enjoy the extra work; the lazy chick in me much prefers clicking a button! :D ...but I sleep better at night knowing my scripts are updated.
