I'm trying to get the record for dumb questions asked so here goes...

After I registered my domain name and point it to my web host (for example lunarpages):

What prevent someone else that has the same web host from using that domain name?

The reason I'm asking is because the name server doesn't seem very unique.

Thanks.

If the server is using some sort of control panel (like Lunarpages does), that control panel usually assigns privileges over a certain domain to a certain account. Although it is still possible for another user account to gain control over a subdomain of your domain, that needs to be authorized by an administrator.

Your domain name unique and that's enough. Do not worry about that. That is quite ordinary situation and believe me that everything ok and no one is going to scam you.
