Features Highlight
Integrated knowledge directory, download directory, and announcements
Email processing can be run using a cron schedule
Private messages among staff
Staff job scheduler
Predefined replies
WYSIWYG ticket editor
Fully template driven

How does it Work

After installing iDesk, all of your customer support email will be handled by iDesk. Each time your customer sends an email, iDesk will create a new ticket and send an email confirmation to your staff and to your customer too.

Now your staff needs to log into iDesk and respond to the ticket. The reply message will be sent to your customer. To reply back to the ticket, the customer could visit iDesk or simply reply to the email using their email client.

When both sides are satisfied the ticket can be closed. The closed ticket can be also re-opened if necessary.

In order to keep the database healthy and a reasonable size, tickets that are inactive for more than the specified time (default in 7 days) will be closed automatically. And the tickets those are closed more than specified time (default in 30 days) will be deleted automatically.

In order to reduce ticket volume, you may add new articles in the knowlegdebase directory. The same scenario is also aplicable for the download directory.

Seems like a decent script. Are there plans to include Captcha feature in near future?

DNGeeks
09-04-2008, 03:33 PM
We do yes, although we have found a very low amount of direct spam which really didn't require captcha. But we also realize that users would like to see this and have added it to our "to-do" list.

Releases come out at least on a monthly basis. This latest release was just around 3 weeks after 1.6.2 as we are trying hard to make improvements.

Version 1.6.4 which is already in beta testing gives users the ability to hide tickets that are awaiting a response. This was one of the most asked about features so help desk users would not have to scroll through pages looking for tickets that are open.

We're also open to suggestions!

password don't work in the admin demo.

At least that's what the error msg said.

DNGeeks

I have found the issue, the demo is functional now.

MichaelMcC
09-05-2008, 05:18 PM
Still just loops back out for me, but without any error.

Is that the same DMOZ extractor that's been around for many years now?

DNGeeks

The demo is working again, it appears that some users are having fun changing the user/pass and deleting users. I'll get the programmer to fix the demo so that will stop.

Yes that is the dmoz extractor that's been around for a while. I talked to the programmer on Tuesday this week and a new version was almost complete.

It has been pointed out that I neglected to post what time zone we are in. Both the server and I are in Central Standard Time (CST). The promotion will begin at Midnight tonight (CST).

Good luck to everyone!

I made a number of attempts to add the linked product to my basket before checkout at the website, and within firefox, AND IE it always states that my cart is empty - no script blockers at all - I believe your shopping cart is broken. How are people going to take advantage of the free offer when they can't get to it?

Tried it more than once, but coupon isn't valid :(

DNGeeks

The promotion is now over, we gave out a lot more than 25 licenses. I shut off the coupon around 12:20 or so.

PropspinMike the cart was working as it should, it's PHPAudit which is a widely used script and is generally bug free. I think you submitted a ticket to the help desk which I answered. If that was you, I added a license to the account you set up.

Hi DNGeeks,

I believe the problem PropsinMike is referring to is the "Add to Cart" link on this page:

http://nicecoder.com/order/more_information.php?product_id=2,1

Directs you to this page:

http://nicecoder.com/order/browse_products.php

If you then go to "View Cart", it hasn't added anything.

The way I found around it was to click the "Add to Cart" link on the browse_products page, and clicking "Cancel" on the prompt. That then directed me to the cart with the product added.

DNGeeks

That's strange, but I'll look into it, thanks.

Our company would be willing to try out your software....but just a thought... wouldnt it be a better promotion if you actually had a coupon for , lets say 10% off a single domain license, rather than have all of these problems GIVING AWAY 25 free licenses?
How does giving away 25 free licenses PROMOTE your software? If you want to make money, and sell lots of licenses, promote the script by offering a special discount, good for the month of September, for example.

Giving away 25 licenses just makes the rest of us that didnt get one of the 25 free licenses mad, it doesnt compell us to buy your product...

DNGeeks
09-16-2008, 09:59 PM
Thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of companies give things away as promotions. We just happen to be one of them.

It may not have compelled you to purchase a license, but it compelled a lot of customers that didn't get a free copy to try out the demo and then purchase a copy.

I don't understand why you would be mad, if you're angry with every company that gives things away but you didn't get anything from them then you must be mad at 25% of the companies in North America.

com1usa
09-16-2008, 10:16 PM
Im not MAD- mad, its just a figure of speech....it is just strange to me that you think you would gain more sales by giving away 25 licenses than by offering a discount on your license like 90% of companies do that release new versions and upgrades.
I HAVE tried your trial, by the way, and love it.....I am torn between your software and helpdesk pilot, who also just came out with a new version, and I have a 50% off coupon code from them as a promotion, sitting in my inbox

I decided on helpdeskpilot... they have a GREAT helpdesk, and they gave me a 50% off coupon, which expired 3 days ago, but still let me use it....

I have researched for a long time before deciding on helpdeskpilot....will give everyone a review in a month after testing it on approx 100 tickets a day

Active Directory Help Desk Management has a lot of importance in the Active Directory Management process. As organizations grow, additional resources like networks, system maintenance, and admin tasks also grow at a similar pace. It becomes difficult to manage Active directory in efficient and timely manner.

Fortunately, Active Directory Manager provides the much-needed ability to assign routine Active Directory Management and support tasks throughout the organization with its powerful ' Techblue Help Desk' feature. It allows the Active Directory administrator to assign all the tasks to non-administrative users like employees that are working for help desk technicians, with limited or full authentication and authorization controls as per administrator requirement that will reduce the workload on the Administrator (ADPR).
