View Full Version : Anyone with legal action against TimPD?
PixelAxis 09-03-2002, 10:13 PM I'm sorry to bring TimPD up again (mods, delete this thread if you feel it is necessary).
I'm sick of Tim and everything he has been doing.
He does not answer my questions and ignores me when I need something. I paid him $200 for a service maybe a couple weeks ago and he has shown NO PROGRESS. He says no refunds but he also does not do any work.
Today I decided to not work for him anymore but I wanted to know if there are other people out there that are going to take legal action against him? I would love to see something happen to him and his outrageous business.
He still has some of my designs and I don't know how I would go about getting them back.
I also have a reseller account with Tim and EARhost which I have no problem with (had it for about a month). We had worked out a design thing where I would design him a few designs in return for a reseller. I do not know if it is reasonable to ask for moneyback but I don't know what to do.
Tim is being a real **** and can't get his lies straight. He says he never scammed ANYONE and he is not a kid, even though I know from several people that he is only 16 and lives with his parents.
Well there goes my rant... thanks for listening and mods, go ahead and delete it if WHT is not ready for another TimPD thread again.
ZBoca 09-04-2002, 02:57 AM Funny you say the thing about being a kid.
I was looking for a colocation provider several months back, and happened to come across Tim. Ironically, we found that we lived 10 minutes from each other, and he talked me into meeting with him.
We met at O'Charlies, and he came in with someone that looked to be 40 or so. (his dad?) He told me he forgot to bring a quote, or any information. We really had nothing to talk about, because by then I had found out that he wasn't to say the least, what I was looking for. I think we talked more about "his" brand new mustang (and cellphone) that his father drove.
I believe he told me he was 15, but I can't quite remember. Aside from being very unorganized, he seemed to be a very bright kid, but I could tell he was trying to hop into everything too quick.
His dad/"partner" split the check, and handed me my bill, and I left.
By the way, his
Aussie Bob 09-04-2002, 03:07 AM So I take it Tim has been swapping reseller accounts for site templates, which he then resells to his "design" clients? Pretty smart actually....:D
Neo3Net 09-04-2002, 03:11 AM So he pays around 150 a month for a whole bunch of designs.
LOL
Samuel 09-04-2002, 03:44 AM Equating just part of what he does as "Pretty smart actually", do keep in mind that the reason he is able to pull this off is by frauding another area of his other business he tries to hork about.
He should be spanked with a big twig

What I meant was, there's all these young and very talented web designers out there who'll trade their work for a reseller account. Tim can say that the reseller account is worth US$400.00 over the course of the year. These young web developers think it's a good deal and it doesn't cost Tim anything. So Tim gets the template, resells it to his client, makes the $$$$ and technically paid nothing for the template as he swapped it for a reseller account on some crappy overloaded server.
I remembered seeing a thread when Tim was offerring a reseller account for a template. He had developers falling over themselves with brilliant designs. I was amazed at the quality of their work.
The thing is, these young web developers probably don't know the value of what they're exchanging with Tim, or they're quite happy to labor for a day or 2 on a template and exchange that for a reseller account. The exchange between the 2 parties is workable for both parties. It's just that Tim gave them crappy hosting. But all and all, it's a good business model [from a business point of view].
He should be spanked with a big twig.
You can arrange something, yes?? :D

Please go on......
ZBoca 09-04-2002, 05:07 AM Actually, I'm not entirely sure why I put "by the way..." It's late, who knows..
I believe thats the end of the story? He has contacted me a few times since telling me he is opening a datacenter along with other lies.
He looks like he is 12? I actually asked if he was in Junior High.
:D
tazd9t9 09-04-2002, 06:45 AM Does anyone know Tim's surname?
Techark 09-04-2002, 07:15 AM Petty I believe.
tazd9t9 09-04-2002, 07:24 AM Thanks Monte, was just checking up as a host decided to come spam on my board advertising a site that doesnt even exist yet.
(hows the baby btw?)
tazzy 09-04-2002, 08:24 AM We had a server with TimPD ... however it seems to have gone walkies  :bawling:
PixelAxis 09-04-2002, 08:43 AM I know how much the reseller account would cost if I actually paid for it, so the designs I gave him were about equal to what I received in return. I don't really have a problem with the account, I shouldn't even have dragged that into this.
All I am asking from Tim now is that he either give me $175 back or finish what he was paid for by Saturday.

So how are you holding up, old fella. You're not a young pup now. :D
Techark 09-04-2002, 10:39 AM Tell me about it:D
I am doing good getting real adapt at feeding, bathing, changing and playing with baby. Been a long time but it is like riding a bike once you do it you never forget it.
Besides he has started the laughing and smiling phase that makes it all worth it. ;)
XTStrike 09-04-2002, 12:24 PM hmm, ok thats cleared my mind, I was about to ban ZBoca because his IPs were almost identical to tims, guess we have an explanation now, living that close im not surprised.
ZBoca, I tend to believe you here, I was told by tim he wasnt young, he told me hes in his 30's if i remember right.
Looks like he lied to me too
Anyways, legal is the only way to go, I think the forum has had enough of this, maybe leave it all a few months, see how the legal process goes with everything and then report back here.
Good luck peeps.
Akash 09-04-2002, 12:45 PM vortech: any commments on this?? ;)
Vortech 09-04-2002, 12:56 PM Yep, we sent a demand for payment and gave him 15 days, if its not here we will take legal action next. :)
PixelAxis 09-04-2002, 02:25 PM Tim sent me an apology today and will be completing his services by Saturday. Hopefully things will be cleared up.
Good luck to you Vortech, and everyone else Tim owes money to.
Acroplex 09-04-2002, 08:04 PM "Your check is in the mail"
Acroplex 09-04-2002, 09:05 PM One of them server farms in Kentucky has just opened for the public (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72155)
TheMMIz 09-05-2002, 12:07 AM I too am waiting for a refund from Tim. But my patience has run out, today I contacted the BBB and have a direct contact with someone who will assist me through the filing process. I didnt put enough money into it to consider legal avenues, but believe this bs has gone on for long enough. Its about time someone did something. Hopefully the BBB process isnt as long and complicated as getting a refund from Tim, from what Ive already experienced it seems like this will be pretty easy :)
Tim. Can I have my refund? What about you James? Anyone?
StevenG 09-05-2002, 07:39 AM I've got news for you guys.. he's onto another venture...
Did some checking around today and I can safely say that my checks showed, unfortunately the info I got was true...
New ventures for TIM include
http://www.pixelgenie.com
http://www.colodedication.com
Geez.... he never knows when to quit huh :D
davidb 09-05-2002, 08:21 AM you guys should really get together and do something, it really seems messed up. btw, colodedecation.com? I dont really get it. Just seems like a stupid name. Anyhow, it appears his "partner(dad from what I read)" is like his son and dosent pay up. I mean, you would think a partner would help pay the bills.....
StevenG 09-05-2002, 08:32 AM btw, colodedecation.com? I dont really get it.
Just warning people of TIMS new business, stay away !!
tazd9t9 09-05-2002, 08:36 AM I am waiting for a refund from Tim too, maybe this is a dumb question but what is the BBB ?

Don't wait.. contact your credit card issuing bank and ask for a charge back... he does not deliver unless threatened at wht - now he's banned. I can't see him refunding anyone...
StevenG 09-05-2002, 08:52 AM I believe he told me he was 15, but I can't quite remember. Aside from being very unorganized, he seemed to be a very bright kid, but I could tell he was trying to hop into everything too quick.
Imagine how dangerous he will be when he matures. I can see him eating porridge for a long time within the future :D
davidb 09-05-2002, 10:10 AM I ment I dont get the name, colodedicated, I understood what you were saying.
StevenG 09-05-2002, 10:14 AM :D yeah I see.... engage brain, first gear, second, third.... :D
Me either.. I don't get it either.... doomed to failure ;D
Gianni 09-05-2002, 11:15 AM Pitty the person who got conned isn't the guy who lives close to the 'Tim' child.
I know what I would do if it was me and I lived close to him!
:uzi: Tim
PixelAxis 09-05-2002, 08:43 PM Funny you should say that Gianni... Tim was afraid one day that an angry pissed off client was saying he was going over to Tim's house :D
I know Tim is starting PixelGenie.com... hmm, name sounds familiar ;)
