Hi,

I would be interested in hearing opinions from established Cpanel/WHM Host about what their policy is concerning Resellers having access to "Modifiy Account". I have seen that a good many Host offer the reseller the ability to setup their own packages with the option to "Modify Account" others let the Reseller setup packages but don't allow "Modify Account" which makes it a royal pain to make a simple disc space, bandwidth or skin change on an account without creating a whole new package and either upgrade or downgrade. Your views and opinions on why you either do or don't allow this function would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Depends 99% of my resellers get this feature 1% don't they are the the ones that tell me right off they know nothing about nothing and are just wanting to host a few friends etc.
Other than those I give it. I do not want to double my support request to do silly little things.

Thanks for your reply. So there is no real downside to giving "Modifiy Account" to Resellers. What is the reasoning behind the not allowing it? Thanks again.

It allows them to give shell access and assign IP numbrs other than that nothing.

It doesn't even allow them to do that. It allows them to change the Cpanel skin and language.

If that's all it allows resellers to do why the reluctance to provide it on the part of some Hosts. It seems that the simple ability to modify an accounts allocations and skin is just a basic feature that all resellers should have, unless of course, you as the host only want them to sell your pre-defined packages. But in the case of a Reseller creating their own packages, then the ability to modify those accounts should be granted, or am I missing something here?

Thanks,
