What would be a recommended connection speed for hosting on a single linux box with cpanel?
Mostly for personal and a few "local" store/business owners.

Cheers!

Nothing that you would have at your home or office (i have a feeling thats why your asking). Colocate or rent IMHO if your that small.

You'll want at least 5mbps upload speeds, but that should be burstable to even higher.

You would be better off co-locating or renting a server.

It would be more pratical for you to rent a server, i dont no how technical your are though so i would not like to suggest colo.

How is a person suppose to start a business if everyone says you can't do it on your own. Where is the motivation in that?

You are right.
Most ppl around here for some reason always give the easy answers probably they don't want to be associated with something that may not work. I'm not one to make allot of posts but i read just about every forum here over and over and have seen a trend starting to develop over the last couple of yrs. and it also seems to be getting worse but the ppl here seem intelligent enough and lord knows theirs ALLOT of experience here. Good luck with your venture:agree:
