I was doing some research for my Reseller Hosting Plan. I found that some hosts were charging the same price for Windows and Linux Hosting. Also all Windows Hosting had ASP and PHP both, Mysql and MSSql both too. However with Linux, only PHP hosting is possible. Hence I am tending to feel that maybe with Windows Hosting I can offer my clients both PHP and ASP support and thus attract more customers.
However I am sure there are some drawbacks to this and I would like the learned people of this forum to Enlighten me on this Aspect.
Also please mention any good Windows Reseller Hosts, you know of.

That's correct. With most of the Windows hosting providers, you'll be able to run Classic ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, MySQL and MS SQL. Hence, you'll be able to offer more to your customers. You can get a list of offers from some of the providers Here (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=130).

Good luck!

Hi

I use both apache (linux) and IIS (Windows).

Both are good, I have found apache to run slightly faster on PHP websites at times, However overall I would recommend Windows as you can host allot more services, as Rick said about with ASP.net etc

OK, so Linux has Cpanel and WHM panel. What is the equivalent panel in Windows?

We are using Helm 3 and DotNetPanel in Windows environment and both of them have been very good and solid.

Thanks,

Helm 3 demo is taken offline after WHA/Parallels started promoting Helm 4. You can have a look at DNP's demo at below URL:

A customer running php website would prefer using linux host with cpanel.
