Howdy, All,

Looking for an online, freeware site builder for some of the folks on my VPS.

rvSiteBuilder is only available for shared accounts at my host. I can load something called "SOHOLaunch", but it looks to be a crippleware. Yuck.

Do not want any sort of trial or pay software. Am not looking for wordpress or its ilk.

Just looking for something a less experienced person can use to add simple pages to their site.

Am NOT looking for a downloadable, compiled app, as who knows what platform the end user will be on? (Mac, Linux, etc.)

My good friend Google has been remarkably reticent about giving up the goods, so I turn to you good people.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I'd suggest using a Content Management System like Joomla or the sort. While not really a site builder, they do allow you to easily add links and pages to your website with little hassle or knowledge. Your only problem would be installing the program, but normally they come with installers that handle most of the work for you and guides directed towards people who don't really know what to do.

Good luck,

However, the op said he didn't want anything like wordpress/joomla/etc. He's looking for a site builder not a content management system. It's for you clients on his vps for them to use somethng simple.

Basically, I do not use host's site builder, I usually use the CMS, feeling very good. By google, you can find out a lot of free CMS, you can try.

But for newbies, (who are the ones who generally use sitebuilders) don't have enough knowledge to use a cms, no matter how basic. They want to be able to point and click and design their site and not have to worry about html/php/css to do it.

If a cms is already esigned and set up, then it's a good option for newbies, because they can just add/edit content, but I think that what the op is looking for here is something to help his newbies DESIGN a good-looking site. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any free site-builders. :(

If you can recommend say something out of their control panel to where they can drag and drop then they could get BlueVoda for free and design their site and just upload it through FTP or their File manager within their Account.

Maybe this can help, Not overally sure though: http://sitebuildercx.com/
