Well, I know that a lot of people here now hate Aletia.
My site has been down a couple of times.
For example :
08.10.2002 16:38 DNS lookup failed 14 hours, 15 mins
08.06.2002 22:54 No reply 10 hours, 8 mins
But according to EasyMonitor.com my site has still an uptime of 96,77%.
Not bad. Not great... But decent, I'd say.
So I think the bad days of Aletia are over. Let's hope so!

1. Welcome
2. Glad to see you are happy.
3. 96% uptime?
4. I would give the new owner some time before I started jumping through any hoops.
As for me, I would never remarry an ex-wife.(Something for people to think about, what the he-- does he mean?)

14 hrs downtimes = 96% I always thought it was something like 45mins = 1% ? I could be wrong though..
Welll JaguarPC's taken over and they're doing a good job of keeping users up to date which is a good sign. Perhaps this is a new leaf for Aletia, but some people have already given up.

I have only been with three providers. One was ALetia. My expereince was very weird. I suffered many hours od downtime and when I canceled it took 1 month of trouble tickets.
I initally emailed support and was instructed to open a ticket. I opened a ticket and was told I had to have my customer number to cancel. My domain name was not good enough. I had to research the number and I placed the information in the ticket. The thing sat there for a while. Then, I received the email from Jaguar. By this time, I had moved and prepaid the domain elsewhere.
Keep in mind, this ticket had been worked by a CSR. I was getting a little agrevated by now. I looked at the ticket and she had been closed without resolution. I sent another email raising cane, and they emailed me back explaining account cancelations should not be submited via the ticket system.
I email the billing people, and about three days later, I received an email that the accunt has been canceled.
The life of this issue was about a month.
That was my experience.
All it takes to cancel your account is to log into paysystems and stop the reoccurring payment. Takes 2 seconds. I did that first. ;)

TnLiP,
1 month is obviously the standard time for Aletia to close down an account (hey, it took them 8 days to set it up, so it only seems fair :D ).
What about your money? Did you see it yet? If no: Any idea where it went? If yes: Wow! What did you do to get it? It's nearly three months now since I cancelled my account, and still no trace of it. Aletia is ignoring my emails, their phone number can't be reached from overseas, and I feel like an idiot.
Any advice?
