Hello all,

As my business is growing I've found myself in need of a specific piece of software that I've decided that would work best for me. However, the question is... does such software exsist?

what I'm looking for is something similiar to Inventory Control software found inside of Point of Sale systems. With all the hardware (and software discs) that I have accumulated for hosting, I want to be able to have a database full of information detailing everything I have. My preference would be that it's webbased so I can run it on a current server with php frontend and mysql db backend.

For example, sometimes when a server is decommissioned it's disassembled and scrapped for parts. Just as other PC's and laptops are. I would like to be able to have this software available on any PC through http://servername:80, log in, and manage the inventory. Such as type of part, type of chipset on a part, firmware revision, storage space, memory space, etc etc. Also if I sell something on ebay or remove it from inventory, that the software would be able to allow me to deduct or add inventory.

Does anyone know if such a piece of software exsists in the opensource world?? I would prefer open source to help keep costs down. However I'm not against paying a $100 or such for software that will do the job without issue.

Thoughts? Suggestions?? Help!

Bradley
