Anyone know of an alternative to RatePoint (especially a cheaper one)? We are looking for a seal to display on our site that says something like this:

Feedback rating (out of 5 stars)
Verified by ___ (issuer name)
Click to leave feedbackRatePoint allows you to do that and include a site seal but only for $20+/month. We tried UserTrust by Comodo, but it seems to be an abandoned project - it won't even let new reviews be posted successfully, and doesn't have any support. I actually talked to the COMODO support department, and they said they had never heard of the product. Any suggestions?

I recently signed up for RatePoint for GeekLayer, and I must say it really does help customers to have that link to an external trusted source with customer reviews, I'd say it's worth the $18/m for sure.

We are a partner of RatePoint and I think using it is great. ;)
As for the pricing, you can get lower rates from partners.

wow thats just a nutty price to pay. It's not like they are advertising your business. I dunno I think I would shop around.

thats my 2cents worth.

If you are serious about your business as well as reputation, RatePoint is worth the price. ;)

I am certainly not going to pay $18/month for a feedback form (period). UserTrust, however, won't seem to update the star rating image for my site from the initial zero-star image they give you once signing up, even though new reviews have been added. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Simple as "you get what you pay for". RatePoint has introduced me to many features that aren't available to the naked eye, they've been very friendly, even called me outside of business hours per my request to give me a little tour of what they saw I had not yet checked out, etc. A really great bunch of people that reflect what I try to peruse in GeekLayer, dedication to customers and good quality service at a slightly higher price than the competitors, simple as that. Well worth the money.

$18 or $180 per month makes no difference as long as it increases conversions and signups [by a fair/relative amount]. Which I think is the real question....

Does ratepoint help you get new customers and retain the old? Or does this just add another layer of complexity that you have to manage.

You can provide customers with email, forum, and tricket support.

They will still contact you using your site feedback forms.

With ratepoint, it would seem that now you will have another point of contact, that's public for anyone to see.

On the subject of Comodo's UserTrust service:

It's odd but after making use of one of Namecheap's PositiveSSL certificates I found that the signing authority is the usertrust network...
CN = UTN-USERFirst-Hardware
OU = http://www.usertrust.com
O = The USERTRUST Network
L = Salt Lake City

The website looks like it is still a live service.
