You might need to check with a Sales rep about that configuration ... I'm relatively certain it would require an RFQ (Request for Quotation) since it's not one of our standard configurations, but assuming the machine can accommodate that much RAM, they will make sure you get a similarly good deal on the upgraded box. Thanks for the question!

Each of the promotions is mutually exclusive, so you should definitely plot out what your needs are and where you find the most value (number of servers, back-end network connectivity, RAM). I'm sure if you would like to take advantage of the private rack promotion, a sales representative can work with you on server pricing since you'd be buying multiple servers (and they may be able to offer a discount on that volume).

One other component to factor in: Private Racks have per-shelf, per-half-rack, and per-rack fees (along with year-long contracts), so the cost will be a little more than the sum cost of the four servers in the rack. Private racks enable independent back-end networking, pooled bandwidth, and more flexibility with add-ons, so it can definitely provide an exceptional value if you need those capabilities.

I tried placing an order for the server however on the shopping cart, it only comes with 1000gb bw.

There was a problem with the internal shopping cart as the promotion code was activated ... when this message was posted, each of the stats was verified with what the code gave in the shopping cart, but the shopping cart is reading the promo codes differently now.

I'll send you a PM to get a little additional information so we can clear everything up. I've requested that a WHT moderator update the offer post to reflect the correct bandwidth allowance on the last three servers (Ready to Go Opteron 265, Dual Xeon 2.8 SCSI, Dual Xeon Monster)to the correct promotional bandwidth allowance of 1000GB.

Thanks for the question, Taimur.

Yes, we allow IRC as long as it is a standalone IRC server. It cannot be connected to another IRC server or a larger IRC network.

Then why do you have clients running servers connected to irc.rizon.net

If clients violate our TOS/AUP, they do so at their own risk. If our abuse department is made aware of those infractions (following reports from internal or external sources), those clients will be notified and their service may be terminated.

I think those questions would be more of a legal inquiry, so I can't speak with 100% certainty. Check the Intellectual Property Infringement section of our Acceptable Use Policy (http://www.theplanet.com/Documents/legal/Planet-AUP.pdf), and if you have any questions, email them to legal AT theplanet.com.

From my understanding, we do not permit hosting warez or providing access to any content that would not permitted on a server on our network (which would include linking to those other sites).
