Something's wrong with my ADSL connection. I'm now hooked up at 8.0Mbps. It's usually 512.0Kbps. hehe. :D

I didn't see your first post before I posted mine. What kind of ADSL modem do you have? --Shaun Aussie Bob 09-03-2002, 03:33 AM It's an alcatel ADSL modem. Anyways, 512Kbps is good enough for what I need it for anyways. :D:agree: shaunewing 09-03-2002, 03:45 AM Out of curiosity Bob, who are you with for ADSL? I'm hoping to get it in about a month - going to try for the iiNet 512/128 plan w/3gb and then traffic shaping after that (as long as Telstra doesn't knock me back on "distance"). I'm tired of seeing this 3 times a day: Sep 3 10:42:26 earth chat[13083]: 49333/V42BIS^M :D --Shaun Aussie Bob 09-03-2002, 03:50 AM Tel$tra ADSL  StevenG 09-03-2002, 06:41 AM My ADSL is always pushing <EDIT - Pulling>6MBbps :D 512Kbps is plenty fast enough though Bob :D Unless you are a speed demon :D peteny 09-03-2002, 06:49 AM Having extra speed is nothing to complain about :o Aussie Bob 09-03-2002, 07:10 AM Originally posted by Dotcomsnz My ADSL is always pushing <EDIT - Pulling>6MBbps :D 512Kbps is plenty fast enough though Bob :D Unless you are a speed demon :D Post your screenshot from your download of the file that I downloaded. :D StevenG 09-03-2002, 07:17 AM URL? weeps 09-03-2002, 07:43 AM That means nothing... look at mine.. now only if I was actually receiving that speed. :D :( :o StevenG 09-03-2002, 07:49 AM Yeah Just means that you could download more of those at once - well, why just get the one download when you could get a hundred of them :D (and the rest) Samuel 09-03-2002, 07:52 AM Yep weeps 09-03-2002, 08:34 AM Originally posted by Samuel Yep lol StevenG 09-03-2002, 08:39 AM LOL, I just checked my DSL connection speed and it's much faster than I thought tonight:- :D Oops - try again :D StevenG 09-03-2002, 08:49 AM :D shaunewing 09-03-2002, 08:56 AM Been doing some subtle image editing? :D --Shaun rockergrrl 09-03-2002, 09:58 AM The reason why its reading at 8.0Mbps has to do with your Network card -- not your actual DSL speed. It means that your Network card can handle speeds up to 8.0Mbps. That's all... nothing to get too excited about. :) Mine can get up to 10Mbps - and I have a 1.5Mbps DSL line. rockergrrl 09-03-2002, 10:04 AM And the network card that's integrated into my motherboard can get up to 400Mbps (I just noticed that) Aussie Bob 09-03-2002, 10:14 AM Yes :o well I got all excited over nothing then. :D  :eek2: :eek3: :bawling: Darth 09-03-2002, 11:13 AM Originally posted by Aussie Bob Something's wrong with my ADSL connection.
