Something's wrong with my ADSL connection. I'm now hooked up at 8.0Mbps. It's usually 512.0Kbps. hehe. :D

Hrmm... I didn't see your first post before I posted mine.

What kind of ADSL modem do you have?

It's an alcatel ADSL modem. Anyways, 512Kbps is good enough for what I need it for anyways. :D:agree:

Out of curiosity Bob, who are you with for ADSL?

I'm hoping to get it in about a month - going to try for the iiNet 512/128 plan w/3gb and then traffic shaping after that (as long as Telstra doesn't knock me back on "distance").

I'm tired of seeing this 3 times a day:

My ADSL is always pushing <EDIT - Pulling>6MBbps :D

512Kbps is plenty fast enough though Bob :D Unless you are a speed demon :D

Yeah Just means that you could download more of those at once - well, why just get the one download when you could get a hundred of them :D (and the rest)

The reason why its reading at 8.0Mbps has to do with your Network card -- not your actual DSL speed.

It means that your Network card can handle speeds up to 8.0Mbps.

That's all... nothing to get too excited about. :)

Mine can get up to 10Mbps - and I have a 1.5Mbps DSL line.

And the network card that's integrated into my motherboard can get up to 400Mbps (I just noticed that)
