Would you people buy/lease a dedicated server
from a web hosting business even tho its
located in Canada ?
The business is using great backbone UUNET.
and
Exchages Rates for CAD. and USD. are like ~1.5
$1.00USD. is worth $1.50CAD. !!!
So everything is like 50% cheaper...

No offense but I doubt very many people would pay that much when your connection consists of dual T1's. There are a lot of other places people can co-locate for about $100 a month on dual T3's.

Not only that... his capped 256kbps costs more than what I can get here (even fully burstable to 100mbps) :) :)

I really don't see any connection between exchange rate and colocation/dedicated server price. In fact, I believe Level3, UUNet, etc are cheaper here in US than in Canada and these people don't follow your exchange rate theory :D

For colocation, it does not matter if im connected
to a T1, a T3 or an oc2, what does it matter? The
service I provide offers a dedicated 512kbps IO on
the RJ45, whats the point of having a 10gbps DLM ?
My T1 is connected to a oc2 witch is connected to
a oc12 witch is connected via satellite to the
the whole world via UUNET. Does that makes my
network the biggest one ? No, so why would I lie
to my clients saying "we are connecting your server
on a 100mbps line" when all you are getting is
512kbps anyways ? If we need a 45mbps IO we will
upgrades to T3. Simple.
Why a T1 ? Dedicated bandwidth. A shared Cable modem
could never handle 5000 user downloading a 50 mb file.
So what do you want, a 10mbps shared connection or
a 512kbps dedicated full duplex line ? Depends
on what you need. If you want 2 or 3 people to access
your file per day. I sugest the shared 10mbps. If
you have a business with more than 300 hits a day
and that business his hosting 50 other business, you
might want dedicated full duplex 512kbps leased T1 line.
Thank you for your time.

I doubt it. 50 clients on a T1 is not giving you very good performance.

What are your plans when your T1's are running at peak, which won't take long as well. Im not sure about everybody else but if I wanted to add additional bandwidth I would have to wait a fair amount of time, perhaps a month or more... in the mean time you will be running slow, you will not be able to add customers (unless of course you wish to slow your services down further). This is why any good host will never wait till his lines are getting near peak capacity before upgrading, and with two T1's your basically already below that special cushion of bandwidth that lies between peak capacity and average actual usage. You may not have any problems up front, but once you start accepting customers you will be...

Mike

You're gonna jump from Dual T1s to an OC3? That is one hell of a price difference. More power to you if you can do it, but at $50k+ a month for an OC3, you are going to need a lot of clients!

We do have lots of good and happy clients.
The Unlimited web hosting plan is making all my
clients very happy. And the speed it good too !
For all of you who ask, of course there is a bandwith
limit, but its a physical one. We do not limit you
to a certain quota on the conncetion. Keep in mind
that many web site use at top maybe 15gb/m.
