I'm looking to buy my first reseller plan and so far I think the InnoHosting Professional plan is my preferred and within my budget.
Where I'm apprehensive is the amount of webspace available i.e. 15GB which I assume is what I have to divide/share amongst unlimited accounts which could be very little space per account.
I can't see why someone would want to sign up with me if they can get say 350GB space using the Hostgator Hatchling plan for example and all I could offer, for example is 1GB webspace and max out at 15 accounts.
I'd appreciate your advice on how you manage space.

that is a good question. why indeed?
i have little experience as i am also new to the reseller market. nevertheless, i offer my two cents. i would recommend you choose a niche market, research it and advertise accordingly. if i am correct, the average website does not use more than 1gb. you can offer more or less, but i allot disk space based on efficiency and reality. also accentuate your service rather than diskspace, since it is our inherent weakness as resellers. this is one way you might separate yourself from the big guys.
be honest with your self as well your clients. that means educating prospective clients on the reality of webhosting and the shortcomings of overselling. it also means, if a prospective clients hosting needs are beyond what you can provide, kindly offer another hosting solution, perhaps an affiliate.
the worst thing to do would be to emulate hostgator since you do not have the resources.
lastly understand that building a business is a process. start within your means learn all you can and you will put yourself in a position to create opportunity for growth.

Hello and welcome To WHT Forums .
About the space , i am not having problems coz i have 200GB space from uk2.net .
In persian Forums they;re offering 100mb/200mb/500mb for $15/Month :) I am offering 1-5Gb for $2.99/Month and many r interested but my new site is new so they're not interesting much more like before...
Hostgator is a overselling company , which will cancel your account if u'll use 2% of your reseller capacity .
why some1 would sign up with u ? its up to you , to your support and to your Personality to manage your reseller .
and remember you are not the only one to have a 1Gb the biggest company as steadfast.net offers 100mb and 500Mb for great support.
Good luck ;

Thanks for the replies and the welcome.
I have a basic understanding of niche markets but have yet to identify one that I'd be comfortable enough with to pursue.
Hostgator was probably a poor example for me to highlight nevertheless there are packages around for $2.xx pm with 5GB space etc. and I'm thinking I have to exploit an almost genuine and well supported niche for me to attract new customers with the webspace available to me on my budget.
I need to do some more research by the looks of things

If you look there are many who are unsatifised with HostGator and theres a reason why; their first line of support is totally hopeless and by the time it reaches 3rd level there is only so much techs that can handle few thousand clients; my advice is that people will learn either the easy way or the hard way and get a good medium-sized host ;)

Or maybe all you need is to explain, conspicuously, that the 1GB or 500MB of disk space you'll be offering, is more than enough for a site with a blog, a forum, a shopping cart, and even a decently sized gallery if pictures' resolutions are kept in check. Really, the vast majority of customers don't actually need more.
