ok i have a server that is'nt a production one and it can only do like 30-50KB/s but yet even though thats all it will push per connection i can put like 300 connects on it and push like 10mbit/s lol could anyone tell me what hardware would be conflicting maybe to cause this when its a base apache install causing it and it does'nt matter if by http,ftp etc... all same max speeds.
btw.. already had nic card changed.
hope somone can give me some ideas ;)

what switch is it plugged into? what connection do you have? what are your duplex settings?

not sure about switch its in a datacenter its burstable to 100mbit and right now its pushing about 10mbit/s
and the duplex settings? could you tell me where to look for those ;)

har har har... yeesh... Can't you find some friendly folks at your data center to help? Or was price the only thing you considered when you signed up? :D

nah its my buddy's he does'nt know first thing about linux so i put apache and ftp, all that so he can upload his files to his site.
so its his server but i maintaine the stuff for it you know?
and its redhat 7.3 i believe

Probably not it, but I once was given a new set of IPs by a colo and they hadn't added the IPs to the router/switch ACL and the rate limiting for "unclassified" IP addresses was like 56Kbps or something. Also had a 2K box with an Intel Pro/100+ server NIC that ran like crap (speed, dropped connections, etc.) and when the driver was updated, it was better! :)
