I need help!!! I have been using aurigma on a client site for the last year and it is just filled with bugs and problems. After contacting the company, they said "we have moved from java version 2 (what I have) to java version 5, (3 versions in 12 months)and this fixed a lot of the issues you are having. Just pay us $150 for the upgrade and you're good to go.

The url for their photo uploader program is:

http://www.aurigma.com/Products/ImageUploader/

Now, this really pisses me off. Their software has a bunch of problems, they fix it, but want me pay for the updated version. Does anyone else see the irony in this?

I am not a big fan of the software after seeing how it works. It is java based, so of course it is resource intensive on the user's pc that uses the app.

What I am looking for: Suggestions for a browser based photo upload program that might have some AJAX properties to it that will work like aurigma's photo uploader. The site I am installing this on is php/mysql based.

So here I go.... PLEASE!!!!! Help me find something that is free, works well, and has the same/similar functions as Aurigma Image Uploader

Thanks Everyone!!

Yes, it is ironic that you think that they should give you the new version for free.

Yes, it is ironic that you think that they should give you the new version for free.

So let me get this straight: You sell me a product that promises a bunch of great features, it does not deliver what you promise, you fix it, then want to charge me additional for it?

You have some ocean front property in Arizona you want to sell me as well? Let me get the Vaseline out.

I have been using aurigma on a client site for the last year and it is just filled with bugs and problems.

So you are essentially asking them to fix a year old version?
Fact is -- bugs happen; and they are implemented in newer versions. Software is being upgraded, and versions change. So it is not unreasonable for them to ask you to upgrade in order to fix bugs because they have already spent the time and money to address it (along with other features) in the new version.

You are asking them to essentially do what they have already done (for the new version), port it back to a different platform, for free. Of course they won't.

My suggestion to you is to have the system developed with your specifications as you want.

Thank you for your insight Burhan. I am looking around for a different solution, on sourceforge, here, etc... I'll post one that I end up going with.

Back to the original reason for posting this topic: Does anyone out there have a suggestion on a product similar to aurigma to go with?

There is a great activex control that does this, but obviously its not cross platform.
