It has improved tremendously! How has it improved? Have they released a new update recently? Although it works just fine for our purposes, sometimes the chat disconnects for no reason. I also think their live help windows desktop application has a memory leak because if I leave my computer at the office on over night, when I log back in in the morning that program is using 100% cpu and everything is running really slow. Same problem on my part, Kayako is a HUGE RAM HOG! it kills the host and the system you run winapp on. I wouldnt reccomend it, and if it was id host it OFF site so it doesnt hog your main box. This has not been reported for a long time (there was a bug in a very old version of the desktop application that caused the memory leak). Did you experience this recently or a while back? CyberHostPro 08-28-2008, 06:20 PM Hi I have used PHPLive Kayako LivePerson and now Sightmax Kayako is good however we found it dont work with ASP CMS systems and with support staff not understanding English too well we never got this fixed, so we now only use Kayako for tickets. PHPLive has many bugs Live Person - Fantastic, 10/10 worked perfectly but expensive, so after 12 months we decided it costs too much and moved on to sightmax. Sightmax - Windows only, installs on the server. Nice windows vista/office 2007 style'd application. However its just not Live person, live person is good for showing you where visitors originated from, what websites they seen you from, and allows you to click links, everything you could want! Live Person is the choice i would make! I am even considering moving back myself and selling my sight max license. amex 08-28-2008, 10:21 PM Even though LivePerson is quite expensive, I love their interface and IMHO are very reliable. The whole setup is very professional. Kayako has a decent interface, but it puts a lot of unnecessary load on the server from what I have seen and it does have a tendency to drop chat sessions. MohnSolutions 08-30-2008, 09:51 AM Live Person we have made order to this one works fine BytesandPieces 09-01-2008, 09:02 AM I have had good success with Kayako. Exoware 09-01-2008, 10:22 AM Kayako all the way. linux-tech 09-01-2008, 12:46 PM I'd suggest staying as FAR away from kayako as possible. As a company, the support is absolutely horrible, and god forbid you tell anyone about it in their public forum, lest you meet the totalitarian Jamie . Whether or not you meant it as an insult, he will take it as such and remove your thread, or post, DESPITE it being on topic. Kayako's one of those companies that's had such a pathetic past that they do everything possible to hide it, including muting the voices that speak out. Their support is absolutely horrific, and refuses to do anything unless you give them full login priviledges immediately. Kayako = joke, in every sense of the word. They keep claiming "we've changed", but those of us in the business for any reasonable length of time know it's the same old same old. Delays, deliberate stall tactics, pathetic support, hide the truth. Now, liveperson, I'd agree, it probably is WAY too expensive UNLESS you've got dozens of servers and thousands of clients. It's not ideal for anyone For a livechat application, try stardevelop (livehelp.stardevelop.com). They're not perfect mind you, but they're good. For helpdesk applications, look at supporttrio, or even WHMCS if you have a hosting company. Their support desk is ok, and it's getting better (from what I hear) in 3.7. HTH ZackT 09-01-2008, 02:08 PM I'd go with Kayako. :) lAscend 09-02-2008, 12:08 PM Kayako again this is easier to use. priyakochin 09-02-2008, 02:09 PM You may go for some free open source scripts like HelpCenter Live. xXJoshXx 09-02-2008, 10:30 PM i suggest Kayako for both live response software and ticket support and the fact that its easy to use with Whmcs Sheps 09-03-2008, 07:40 AM I was very pleased with Kayako as a all in 1 solution when I was in the business. +1 for Kayako... :) SwiftModders 09-03-2008, 12:31 PM I think Kayako has it's ups and downs as a software solution. I think that Kayako works as I need it, but is it really worth the cost for my needs. Maybe for the needs of another company that uses a lot more of it's features...but for my purposes maybe not. I have been considering just moving over to WHMCS for the support tickets and using LiveHelp from Star Develop for our live chat solution. I wonder...:) BytesandPieces 09-03-2008, 08:12 PM I'd suggest staying as FAR away from kayako as possible. HTH I could not disagree with you more. We have found Kayako support to be very responsive and they know their product. Like any other vendor they triage support cases carefully and shy away from fixing problems caused by other software applications. Jamie is an evangelist. What do you expect? Like it or not, his defense of their brand is no different than what you might do. Back to their support - I've logged into their chat, stated my case, and had it fixed literally within the hour or two. I don't have a problem providing them with admin or root access. That comes with the territory whether Kayako or any other SaaS vendor. Rotate your password(s) immediately afterwards. Enough said. Bottom line is that kayako is a solid help desk/CRM solution. let kayako install it if you are not good with linux, mysql, and apache, zend, php, etc. Skin it, integrate it with via Loginshare with your favorite control panel or business automation package and enjoy the workflow. miltongoh 09-06-2008, 10:34 PM I have deployed Kayako for most of my clients, it is greats, they said that too! :) It is simple to use and useful indeed! JohnJ 09-06-2008, 11:11 PM It's a tough decision. They both have amazing client-side interfaces. But I suppose if I had the extra money, I'd go with LivePerson. jepourlevendetta 09-09-2008, 12:51 AM I vote Kayako ^^ chrda 09-09-2008, 07:21 AM +1 for Kayako, just installed SupportSuite, and everything looks good SoundsGood 09-11-2008, 12:39 PM I have been considering just moving over to WHMCS for the support tickets... Does WHMCS have a "built in" ticket system? If so, is it similar to Kayako's? linux-tech 09-11-2008, 12:44 PM Yes, it does have a system, and no it's not really as sophisticated as Kayako's system. DATARTIM 09-11-2008, 12:57 PM We use liveperson and have no complaints, everyone finds it easy to use and they are very good to deal with. I wouldn't even consider kayako's live help solution. prashant1979 09-12-2008, 09:01 AM We have been using Kayako eSupport from the past 2 years and PHPLive(OSICODES) from the past 3 years. They both work like a charm. I would place my bet on Kayako if you want a complete package in a single application. |
