View Full Version : Req- $50 for Logo Design

Craig3281
09-02-2002, 02:39 PM
Will pay $50US via PayPal for corporate logo design.

Must meet the following criteria.

* JPG
* Background transparent or #7E1718
* Must display "Halbert Associates" & "Changing the way you look at Technology"
* Size not to exceed 330W X 40H

For reference the logo must compliment the design of http://halbertassociates.com

40' pixel height is pretty darn small, and then you'd want to fit the slogan in there as well. 60' pixel height is a decent amount, if you wouldn't mind making it at that size.

IonicHosting

That's kinda difficult only 40pixels height :) I will try anyway.

Here is something I've made... it meets your color/sizing requirements, and I made a pic to show you what it would look like on your website:

Just the logo:

Everyone does such great work and its sincerely appreciated. I'm looking for something that really stands out, emphasis with drop shadow on Halbert Associates with some sort of design that would relate IT. I'm capable of doing all the text imaginable but have a block for a logo. My selection not only receives the nominal fee of $50US dollars but later referrals for work. Currently I have nearly twenty clients including, community portal GoPBI.com, subsidiaries of IBM, Motorola, Nokia and related vendors. This would be an ideal opportunity to add a graphics guru to our current portfolio.

No, no,no, all the designs are great but not what I want. I can do a design with a name and a winding but that's not what I'm looking for, I want something like a seal or a logo e,g, Something, IBM, alliteratively different. I sincerely appreciate all the submissions and they look great! I can design on my own every combination of text and windings however I want something=thing that screams. Sorry if I'm so particular but I know someone here has the exact idea I'm looking for. The offer still stands $150US via PayPal that comes up with the sucessusful design.

I'll try again later tonight if I have time. In the mean time, could you possibly be a little more specific then "it must scream!" You don't want a simple logo, rather more of a banner? As others said, it's hard to do much screaming in a 40 pixel box.

We have a deal for you....we will give you that logo free, as well as redesign your site if you wish, if you can guarantee client work for us.

Our portfolio is at www.fabrikated.com

We are redesigning Defender Hosting ( temporarily at
www.kiblin.com). The site is available to look at via
www.kiblin.com

We also designed the now defunct SwiftyHost. You can
see a screen of it here: www.fabrikated.com/site2.jpg

A beta design of that site is available at
www.fabrikated.com/site.jpg

We recently developed www.vinylserver.com as well.

We are currently developing The Spray Can
(www.thespraycan.com) a community for spray paint
artists. The design is in its VERY early stages, but
you can view it so far at www.fabrikated.com/tsc.

You can contact us via email : info@fabrikated.com or
personally by replying to this email at my personal
email address jigglefabrik@yahoo.com

What I'm not understanding what is really necessary on your logo. Is "Changing the way you look at technology" required? If it's a logo that you will be using on your site, on a seal, or letterhead, then you don't really need it or either shorten your slogan.

ocs
09-02-2002, 10:31 PM
Okay, I've given it a try.

This example logo is bigger than the specified sizes. But at this early stage, its still a concept and I thought having it slightly larger would allow you to determine whether it was worth pursuing - then customization and alterations could be made as needed.

As a side note, a larger logo does fill the red header on the web page well.

Please keep in mind that anything about any of my logos can be changed. Font faces, sizes, colors, affects, etc. I'm not trying to ruin the concept of a "contest" but if you like one of my logos overall, but just have a small problem with a font or something... you know.

ocs
09-03-2002, 04:07 PM
I have reworked some examples of the logo as below.

http://sites.opencache.com/halb1.gif - similar to original listed above, but made smaller to better suit initial requirements.

http://sites.opencache.com/halb2.gif - introduced a better looking 'arrow' and altered 'associates' font.

http://sites.opencache.com/halb3.gif - based on example above, with new arrow and font, with altered layout - I like this one.

http://sites.opencache.com/halb4.gif - slighly larger version of above logo, without the slogan. On the services page, you display many of the top logos around from computer firms, most of which dont include their slogan. So for reference purposes, I added a version without it.

Again, any questions or changes etc, just ask.

I think ALL submissions were great. Not to be a jerk or anything, but being as picky as you are, you will need to pay a lot more than $150 to a professional compared to a board (not saying that your guys' work is bad!).

Please consider my deal.

NoFolio

Actually, for $150 I think he has the right to be picky. Most of the people here offer what? $15? $50 at the most.

vito
09-03-2002, 07:41 PM
I think the problem here was that Craig did not provide us with enough info as to what he was looking for. It's kind of hard to build him a logo that'll "knock his socks off" without having more of an idea of what he likes/dislikes. So we basically had to do alot of guessing.

The one inconsistency that I didn't care for, Craig, was that you were vehement about the size restriction, yet the logo that you are "leaning to" is not within your specs. Oh well, it's the customer's prerogative, I guess, to change his mind.

Good luck. I hope you find a logo that suits your taste. ;)

I prefer how it's done at some other forums where the original poster will sometimes pay a third party in advance (usually a moderator) so that the participants know that there will actually be a winner and a payout.

Mind you, we could be jumping to conclusions here, but I did find it peculiar that he tripled the prize amount so casually. Most people don't normally do that on their own. And it is a bit odd that he hasn't posted for a while... Hmm.

Oh well, if it turns out not being legit, it wouldn't be the first time we've been taken.

If anyone's interested, I saw a thread from this Craig character at http://www.frontpagetalk.com/forums/tm.asp?m=32268&p=1&tmode=1 . If it's any consolation, it seems he makes it a habit of starting a thread, and then making like the night and disappearing.

I certainly don't have the desire, time or patience to go through all the submissions in this thread to see if he has actually used someone's design, but feel free to click through to his site to see if he's using yours.

BTW, in the thread I'm referring to, the thread title he chose seems particularly appropriate... :D :D
