Just had this from my host:

UPDATE: Dear resellers/master resellers,

Today we have discovered first hand that the master reseller script is causing havoc on servers everywhere
because it is not compatible with the latest version of cpanel/whm.

The problem manifested itself today when all reseller/master reseller accounts on one of our servers were suddenly downgraded to cpanel accounts!

We had to manually go through all reseller accounts on the affected server and upgrade them again, and because of this it is quite possible we missed one or two accounts, or one of your clients accounts, so please ensure you double check all your accounts and explain this email to your clients in case they have difficulties too.
We would for now suggest that anyone who has a master reseller account, please do not use your master reseller area at all until we have found a fix for this.
It happened at exactly the same time that a new account was created in the master reseller area and we don't want to risk it happening again if that was the cause.
If you have a master reseller account and need to create new reseller accounts, please don't use the master reseller area, please first create the account as a normal cpanel account in your main WHM control area, and then contact your personal account manager with the domain name details and they will upgrade it to reseller status for you.

This is a very serious issue and having looked through the support forums at http://forum.deasoft.com/showthread.php?t=434
it is apparent that the script has caused issues for many others too, due to what has been revealed as an imcompatibility issue with the latest cpanel version.
To compound the problem, the support offered by the author of the script is pretty much non-existant and therefore we have somehow got to muddle through on our own.

Please contact your personal account manager if there is anything missing from your account or you have any problems with your account.

Please accept our most sincere apologies for this completely unforeseen issue. We are doing our very best to work around this whilst we find a resolution.
We have even had to cancel all auction listings for master reseller accounts because we cannot possibly offer it with the above knowledge.
This issue is causing a massive overload of work for our staff, so please do be patient with them. They are doing there very best to find a solution and their very best to work with you whilst they do so.

Anyone else having these issues??

We are not aware of this issue as yet and would like you to open a new support ticket with us regarding it.

If there is any incompatibility we can have it fixed in a matter of hours to days. But as things stand now there is no incompatibility. Some clients have had issues but these have been due to extreme over usage of the software with extremely large numbers of Master Resellers. We never envisaged clients to use WHMreseller in such a large scale fashion and are in the process of increasing its capacity for such clients. So this could indicate your Host is overselling.

But please get your Host to submit a new ticket about his specific issue and we will investigate, thanks.

Right now we are waiting for Hosts using WHMreseller to submit a ticket about any such issues.

Is that why all my Master Resellers somehow became just standard resellers? I hope you guys can make it so that it won't do that again.

Can you please submit a new support ticket so I can investigate your installation, thanks. Please remember to include your servers login info and then I will be able to investigate and prevent any such issues happening again. I want to see how large your usage of WHMreseller is because so far it is only happening to clients with large installations - something we are already working on to fix.

I did hope you come up with a fix so that any future cPanel updates don't trigger a similar event.

You've just contradicted yourself. Either your aware of it or not.

Also looks like the thread that I was sent in the email I posted is gone.

They dont' like negative publicity. Anyrate there's a few problems, hope they can fix it cause I'm about to lose all my Master Reseller accounts all 25 of them.

There is an hour between those posts, a lot can happen in an hour such as people contacting them about them and them verifying it is an issue...

I spoke to my host to tell them I'd opened this thread and this is some of what I got back:

'We raised a support ticket with them on 14th Aug when the problem occured, yet they say they didn't receive one...then today we have suddenly received a reply to the ticket sent at 1.23am saying they want our server log on details so they can take a look!'

'The fact that they deleted the other thread too, and some of it was dated back to March, simply confirms that they have known about it for a long time and have done nothing to fix it.'

Yeah that's true, they deleted it knowing there was a problem and ignored it. Well now its out of the box and if they think they can ignore this, then I'm sure as going to find someone who can help me develop a similar solution to Mellow Host's way of things.

Just wanted to update everyone. Deasoft has taken a look and has fixed my problems :) Just submit a ticket to them and they'll go through and fix yours too.
