View Full Version : Best UK Reseller Host
mprcomp 08-14-2008, 05:17 PM Hi. I want to have my own reseller business. I know a few people who would be intrested in having their website hosted by me as they trust me. I want to use these customers as a base for making extra money on top of my job. I live in the UK and I have been looking at my options.
I wondered if anyone on here uses and UK hosts for their reselling account and which one they think is best.
I currently most persuaded by Heart Internet but have tonight found out that it is best to have private nameservers to make my hosting company look more proffessional. Should I go for a host which gives me private nameservers?

I wouldn't say private nameservers should be the only consideration. Unlimited webspace/bandwidth is what concerns me the most to be honest.
If you check the offers forum, you will find a decent amount of UK hosts.
I do know UK2 are doing a special at the moment as they have launched some new reseller plans, so may be worth looking into that too. :agree:
Dan_EZPZ 08-14-2008, 05:33 PM Heart Internet offer "Unlimited" bandwidth, webspace and domains. I really wouldn't trust anyone offering such ridiculous plans.
If you're looking to resell hosting whilst you work, are you also looking for a host that'll provide end-user support?
mprcomp 08-14-2008, 09:21 PM Yes I want them to provide the support but as if it's me rather than the hosting company if you know what I mean.

dazmanultra 08-15-2008, 05:30 AM The support part is going to be difficult - I don't know of any providers that offer that as part of a reseller package.
If you're starting a hosting company with a reseller account, and your provider is also providing the support to your end users - what are you going to do and why should people choose you above going with the hosting provider direct? :P

The support part is going to be difficult - I don't know of any providers that offer that as part of a reseller package.True. That is a major consideration. But there are such reseller packages available.
If you're starting a hosting company with a reseller account, and your provider is also providing the support to your end users - what are you going to do.......?Good question. I can think of several things, not least, marketing, marketing and also, ummmmmmmmm, marketing. Working on building a stunning web site, building up a great Knowledgebase, establishing a blog, researching, planning, installing and manning a LiveChat system for sales and more.....time is a precious commodity.
Wouldn't it also be great if you could opt to answer tickets yourself, learn from the EndUser responses provided by your provider and build these into your Knowledgebase? How would you like to set the times and specific days that EndUser support is provided by your provider and answer your 'duty' tickets yourself? How would you like to offer true 24x7x365 Technical support from Level 1 up to Level 3? How would you like to offer 24x7x365 Sales and Billing Support while you are asleep? Sounds good?
How would you like it if all that was seamlessly integrated into a free installation of WHMCS and conducted in such a way that your clients will never know that it is not your hosting outfit providing the support?
There are actually a few host providers that offer some kind of EndUser support including the ResellerZoom Advanced plans. However, there is one that I happen to know of one that provides the whole lot......InnoHosting.
It has not escaped my notice that Rameen from InnoHosting posted above and was humble enough to suggest you contact UK2 when he could solve all of your problems himself just like that. A very good friend of mine has a reseller account with Inno and speaks very highly of them indeed from fast servers to excellent support and a great deal all round with loads of otherwise expensive extras thrown in that makes being an entrance level reseller very accessible. That includes a $6.95 domain reseller account with NetEarthOne.
But take a good look around and good luck. ;)
The reason most companies will not offer support to your customers as a 'white-label' service is that support, especially telephone support, is very expensive to provide.
You will certainly find companies in the UK who will do so 'off the menu' if you ask them but only if you are prepared either to pay for the support separately or you are looking at giving them quite a lot of business. A few websites might not be enough to interest them.

HostThree 08-19-2008, 07:59 PM Check out IH-Rameens company, they have a good name about them and offer End User Support.
01globalnet 08-20-2008, 08:02 AM I think the most reliable reseller provider in UK is United Hosting (I do not have any experience). After my researching I believe they are in the same league as Rochen, Cartika etc.
MKHosting 08-20-2008, 09:55 AM There are plenty of hosts to choose from, however the support will be hard to find. Also think about how much space and bandwidth you need rather than looking for an unlimited one, no good host offers unlimited space or bandwidth.
Red_wolf6 08-20-2008, 11:02 AM Try UK2.net i Joined their site yesturday and they setup My account Directly .

01globalnet 08-20-2008, 07:27 PM Guys, is there a difference between unlimited hosting and UK2 reseller plans? Unlimeted = 200g for just a few bucks per month.
eming 08-21-2008, 09:26 AM I have to admit our reseller plan setup is a bit odd. Its sort of split up in two. First you have to chose your resellerplan, and then the main domain. However, if you do not submit payment info (you are not forced to do so, since this is a free trial) you end up in our manual queue to minimize risk. So, when my risk team (working 9-5 mon-friday) has gone through your info and approved you, you will get a mail asking you to setup a domain.
Now, if you do not react to that mail, your account would not be setup.

yeah there's a Difference coz 200Gb you can use them , unlimited is something unreal and UK2.net is not very cheap you pay for what you get in return . :)
