View Full Version : Best Billing Management
Mii Host 08-13-2008, 08:31 PM | Whats the most easiest and best billing management to handle?
I dont care if i have to pay?
whats the best one?
(i use cpanel with whm) |
linux-tech 08-13-2008, 09:02 PM If you use WHM / CPanel, and you offer hosting, you want WHMCS (http://www.whmcs.com). They can be a bit slow with 'urgent' support at times, and the forums are completely censored, so I wouldn't trust anything there, but the product itself is great. |

I've used WHM.AutoPilot (http://www.whmautopilot.com/). My experience with it wasn't great; it seemed too clunky. |
tonyFF 08-15-2008, 11:49 AM Another vote for WHMCS - awesome. A complete solution :) |
chennaihomie 08-15-2008, 12:56 PM WHMCS would be best for the billing part with Cpanel. |
ReadyRick 08-15-2008, 12:57 PM We LOVE WHMCS. It has really helped streamline our operation. |
symphonious 08-15-2008, 02:42 PM AWBS rocks for us. Not as easy as WHMCS but way ahead. |

blazenetworks 08-21-2008, 07:45 AM i suggest a custom made billing software with needed features. I made my own billing system in cakephp + xajax. |
Red_wolf6 08-21-2008, 08:18 AM Clientexe is Good and cheaper Than WHMCS |
oliviakitty 08-21-2008, 09:05 AM Hm... I have only ever heard of WHMCS.
Which comes free with most plans...
I suppose I will check out Clientexe |

Many larger hosting operations find that eventually they need to build their own billing solution but for small startups this suggestion is rarely practical or cost-/time-effective.
WHMCS works fine for me as well and is far cheaper initially and probably at least for the first few years of business as one scales up. And there are "industrial strength" solutions like Ubersmith that can accommodate bigger hosting operations too.
It's not a bad suggestion, mind you, just almost never practical and will generally impede the startup of a hosting company who is spending a lot of time building and troubleshooting their own application. |
kingdolar 08-30-2008, 07:17 PM i am using WHMCS
and really happy with that |
SoundsGood 09-12-2008, 09:26 AM AWBS rocks for us. Not as easy as WHMCS but way ahead.
I know this is an old post (sorry!) but you please explain why you feel AWBS is better than WHMCS? I'm having a rough time deciding between the two.
Thanks! :) |
River Marz Media 09-14-2008, 05:10 PM WHMCS is good, i love it. But i have heard once you have so many clients in the system that it starts acting up and not suspending/invoicing people properly. |
ayksolutions 09-14-2008, 11:36 PM We use Ubersmith with terrific results. |

remsys 09-25-2008, 12:09 PM Does anyone know a billing system which supports custom login plugins, or at least LDAP ? |
power1 09-25-2008, 01:09 PM using WHMCS 3.7 and its very good |
railto 09-25-2008, 01:44 PM when i was running outhost.eu i started out with modernbill, was crap so moved to whmcs, worked fine until i had a client want to upgrade, then it went wrong and support wasnt much help, tried client exec and it was awfull, took ages for it to do anything, then i found the magic of AWBS (and then i sold the company) |
SafariHost 09-28-2008, 01:46 PM If you're looking for Simple & Efficient one , so you're looking for CLIENT EXEC.
And if you've enough time to configure some complicated options, so u go for WHMCS |
enotchnet 09-28-2008, 03:58 PM I like WHMCS for its features. Its initial setup is scary because of all of the options & configuration areas but this just reinforces that the options are somewhat endless with their product. WHMCS like any other software product is built to suit specific requirements with .1, etc to address bugs and roll-in minor enhancements prior to the next big release.
On the other hand from a customization perspective, you can build in custom admin modules as per your discretion and their API is not that difficult. So it shouldn’t be too hard to integrate existing systems or extend what is provided. My opinion is that customization can take any product to where you need it to be rather than starting from scratch. Sorry for the long winded reply!
Another vote for WHMCS! |
RSkeens 09-28-2008, 06:00 PM I'll also put my vote in for WHMCS - the support they provide is also pretty good. |
if you sell in more than one currency - clientexec is what you need, whmcs will not do it |
Jame$ 09-28-2008, 07:08 PM WHMAP here, I'm not a fan of the WHMCS interface and design, although it can be customized it's one of the most important factors for me. |

Duplex-Group 09-28-2008, 09:26 PM Clientexec, has my vote,
I tried WHMCS found the whole interface just abit too much in your face,
While clientexec is a good layout and friendly
Im currently testing ubersmith also,
See how it goes,
Thanks,
Chris, |
I'm with AWBS and good enough. |

Anyway, I use WHMCS and it is excellent, including support. |
