I know that this sounds a bit stupid, but, is it possible to email people advertisements, without spamming?

You can advertise by mails, which are more personalized and not bulk.

Once somebody emails you, you can email them back anything you want, they gave you permission to email them if they emailed you.

Once you have got them signed up you can mail them.
Make sure you stick a link at the bottom of the email to unsubscribe, if people can leave it tends to annoy them less than if they have to go all the way back to your site and try and find out where to unsubscribe
